Lt Bull
Hello all I have a scenario where I can Dig-In my units into Open Ground, Brush, Rocky terrain. There is Rough terrain but it seems I can't Dig-In my units in that terrain, just place them in it. When Dug-In, which terrain gives my units the best cover from fire (direct and arty) and concealment from being spotted? Comapred to this terrain, how does being in Rough terrain (and not Dug-In) compare? I think I have seen an Excel chart around with this info. Cheers Lt Bull
Leopard_2
Try the Combat Mission Database, http://users.erols.com/chare/cm/. Edit: Is it just me, or are those excel tables empty? I have the tables right here, as printout, but I seem to be unable to find them on the 'web anymore... Vadr
From the website linked above: For Excel users (full version only): The tables will initially show up as being blank. You need to *Select All* and choose a font or font color for the page to make the text visible.

Not much to choose from in terms of cover from arty. Maybe brush would give you a little cover against small arms. Michael
llama
In my experience rough terrain gives more than adequate concelment and better protection against fire (small-ams or HE) than do foxholes. Whilst I dont have the figures to prove it, I owudl put my troops in rough rather than dug-in in brush etc. Cheers
melb_will
Just wondering. There has been talk about how the Hull Down Command raises the chance that you will be hit in the turret. Would digging in increase your chance of losing your AFV (provided hull armour is stronger than turret) while eliminating your ability to respond.?
