Vartuoosi
When enemy soldiers surrender do you get some kind benefit from it? Expect less soldiers to fight yours. Like some kind intelligence bonus or something?
Aco4bn187inf
The benefit you get is extra victory points, but nothing beyond that. Move prisoners to a safe place where they won't get hit by stray shells, or move them off the map. Make sure your men can see them, or they'll 'escape' and become an unarmed enemy unit.
Fußball
I always move my captives into a warm shelter with plenty of love and care. And the occasional death threats if they think about escaping... Tschüß! Erich

DavidFields
Aco4bn187inf: Thanks for reminding me about the possible escaping. I had forgotten that, and had been starting to get in the habit of just sending the prisoners to the rear enescorted. I don't remember any "escaping", but I may not have been paying attention to this at the end of the scenarios.
The Coil
I thought they only escaped if another unit got near them. Anyway, you gotta do something with those crews, might as well guard prisoners.
Fußball
It is always humorous when enemy soldiers surrender and then decide,"Maybe this is not such a good idea?" and unsurrender. I have had one particular MG surrender to one of my squads firing at it, then unsurrender only to have my squad resume firing at the MG and then the MG surrendered again but getting mowed down by fire from my squad. stoat
You get more points for a man captured than for one killed or wounded.
Evzone
More gratifying than killing them, I find. There's the Geneva Convention to think about as well... Evzone
WindyCity
I personally try to put prisoners to a more productive use, *example*

WindyCity
See, there is alternatives to prisoners . My tactics reduce my Armors chance to bog , just simply grease your tracks down . ActionMan
My plan with prisoners is to move them, under escort, to a safe place. Perhaps now I will move them off the board. However, sometimes he will not move. I have an escort, usually crew or a spotter out of ammo, though once a nearly complete infantry section, but the prisoner does not move. When I check the time delay it may only be 30 seconds, but at the end of the move he is still there. I have hunted through the orders options, but there is no order for "Shoot the **** prisoner who will not do as you tell him." Any suggestions? (This is in CMBO).
Vartuoosi
I've encountered this problem too in CMBO and CMBB
tar
They do tend to panic easily if there is any combat action around them.
Fußball
Originally posted by Rockape: I have hunted through the orders options, but there is no order for "Shoot the **** prisoner who will not do as you tell him."Both CMBB & CMAK have no order to execute prisoners for their insubordination. This is easy to remedy with the "Area Target" command. The only problem is the assigned unit to do this will keep firing even after the enemy has fallen. I suppose you can take this as precaution to make sure the prisoners are DEAD. I once had a surrendered Russian squad with no intentions of following my orders of moving them safely from the main line of combat into a holding area. My response? Firing squad of course! Funny thing that I once had to do that same thing to another surrendered squad but right after my unit began firing they got the message and started their move order after 4 turns of waiting! Tschüß!
