jengel
I picked up the special edition recently and understand that there are many new 3rd-party scenarios added to it, but I was wondering if there is any way to get better information on the scenarios. I find that the descriptions aren't enough, and when you click on the scenario to see what items are available, you are then obligated to go through the entire process of starting up the scenario. I've been playing wargames many years, I was brought up on Avalon Hill and Squad Leader, etc., so please don't accuse me of wanting everything "spoonfed" to me. I'm just sick of spending 1 hour going through 20 scenarios to see if they have Panthers in them. I still have yet to find a scenario where I get to play with Panthers. So is there is a list somewhere which does a brief description with a list of equipment for each side? Even if it was divided into two different files, that would be great, because then I don't have to see the other side's scenario load out. Also, a summary would be nice to include DATES. I like to play in historical order sometimes. Just to give a sense of some continuity. Thanks for any help. And YES I did search for this info but could find nothing.
mrcoffee
i thought the scenarios had, in the briefing, an order of battle. Most scenarios designers put the order of battle in the briefing.
Holman
I know of no summary such as you describe, but most scenario designers give plenty of information in the briefing that open up when you click on a scenario (the one you see before you choose a side). Also, there's a convention of putting the date in the scenario title, although not everyone sticks to it. (I hope that the next version of the CM engine allows a player to sort scenarios by date.)
junk2drive
you can alt-a out of the briefing back to the menu. if that helps save you time.
