stikkypixie
I just finished playing this scenario as the Russians against the AI. I've played this scenario before (against the AI) so I knew what to expect. But I decided to try a "new" tactic. Normally I would cautiously moved my tanks from cover to cover, but his proved rather costly. So I decided to use my katyusha barrage at the first minute and rushing my tanks forward during the barrage it self, whilst carrying the mounted infantry. That way I hoped to cover as much dead ground as possible, because German AT guns have excellent field of fire. I managed to carry my infantry a cross the open ground, without significant resistance. Maybe I got lucky, but I managed to score a total victory. Have any of you tried played it this way before? Or was this the way it was intended to be played?
Random Generic
That's kinda what I do. Sneak up the drainage ditch to as close as you can get, let loose with the rockets and GO! I leave the SUs in the ditch to come up and duel with the 88s. Played that way several times and won each time. Random Generic
Kingfish
It only worked because of prior knowledge of what was in front of you, or with regards to AT and AP mines, what is not.
Andreas
Kingfish is right. The scenario is not designed for replayability. None of my scenarios are. FOW is an essential factor in them, and consciously designed in. Nevertheless, it is good to see people still playing, and presumably enjoying them. Inola
Was your planes effective. And what about bloody Henscheles? It is very interesting for me, because I always lose this scenario because of planes.
stikkypixie
Actually the Henschel got shot down . Btw Andreas or Kingfish what would you guys change to make it replayable? Or in general for that matter.
Andreas
I'd take away the planes, but that would make it even less replayable. Other than that, since I do not consider replayability when designing, I can not answer the question. JasonC does rather well at improving my scenarios I find, he may have a view.
