Tank Ace
I don't know about u guys but when im moving through enemy territory i put and bazooka/piat/panzershrek on the back of my tanks so that in the event it is knocked out the anti tank team can be dispatched and be farther up line than the tanks. I also like putting inf and MGs on tanks to carry them up to the front.
BigDork
I stopped using tanks to ferry troops up to the front because of the losses I was taking when my tanks got hit. Sure it's helpful to have an anti-tank team up there to take out the enemy tank but if they team got routed or killed when your tank exploded what's the point?
Tank Ace
I mean since halftracks are so vulnerable, tanks are usually sent towards the objective inf can hitch a ride and be there before the enemy can get there, like in meeting engagments. Patton liked the idea of tank-bourne infantry. So i got the inf on tanks from his book, WAR AS I KNEW IT.
IntelWeenie
This works better in CMBO than in CMBB. I've seen that it's pretty easy for a MG to clean off the back of a tank since the pax can be targeted. If you're willing to put up with that risk, it's better than nothing, though, especially since the Reds don't get halftracks all that often.
Gungalley
they get routed easily if under fire
Bruceov
I find that the infantry just gets brushed off of the tanks when fired upon. However if one is in the halftrack when its destroyed you can use half a squad
Louie the Toad
I think the pictures you see in books and film of infantry riding on tanks were taken behind the front lines, away from direct fire. Riding to the battle, not into it.... Toad
