76mm
Hi, can't find an answer to this quesion in the manual or in a forum search... I notice that when a scenario has "Frozen" temperate the water tiles are shown as ice. Can the ice support crossing troops? Vehicles? Armor? And what about when the temperature is "Extreme Cold"? Same questions. Thanks
Mad Russian
Ice will support troops not any vehicles. The temperature doesn't matter. It's the ice that matters. All troops, no vehicles. Hope this helps.

Brent Pollock
You can also get Operational oddities wherein the weather will switch from battle to battle, giving you ice...then no ice 30 minutes later...followed by a snap freeze after another half-hour.
76mm
Sounds like an excellent reason to avoid Winter operations!

I haven't seen many winter operations anyway, but most of them don't depend on being able to cross ice.
Alsatian
If you walk your troops across ice, make sure they're wearing their nice big targets.
Brent Pollock
Sometimes you can get away with crossing a frozen river because the ice is in dead ground due to the elevation drop from the bank. It can make a huge difference if you're on a river defense, with just a couple of fords and a bridge to cover, only to find the entire water obstacle has become permeable to infantry. Joachim
If the river ain't running parallel to the friendly map edges you don't need to cross anyway in an op. Gruß Joachim
