General Rambo,

We're giving it our best against a Fabled Highlander. It promises to be a tough one with the real action only starting to develop.

Mid-July 1941

"With deep regret His Majesty's Government has been forced under overwhelming pressure to abandon our long standing outpost of Bergen on the North Sea. We vow to our Norwegian Allies, and those of Poland, France, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Greece and Yugoslavia that, regardless the cost and time in years, we shall once more be free and united in Victory."

Lightning Strikes Stockholm!

Forced into action by a burgeoning secret weapons programme and the abominable treatment of the German population in Sweden, the Reich has acted to restore order to Scandinavia.

Fortunately, large scale amphibious exercises were taking place in the Baltic in conjunction with the Soviet Navy when it became clear that the Swedish threat could no longer be ignored.

pt-506-dietl-75dpi.jpg

In a brilliant amphibious operation, General Dietl landed three German armies and a corps in the vicinity of Stockholm. These smashed the garrison and quickly subdued the city.

pt-207-sturmpioniere-75dpi.jpg

Massive Luftwaffe support from Norway destroyed much of the Royal Swedish Air Force on the ground and shattered the remnants of the Swedish Army.

pt-2720-75dpi.jpg

By the time Sweden surrendered, she had only one battered corps operational.

German troops, with the aid of Soviet advisors are working tirelessly to get the heavily damaged Swedish rail network working again.

In North Africa, the Italian Army are constructing a formidable defensive line in Egypt prior to continuing operations against the English.

"And now we add peace loving, neutral Sweden to the ever growing list of nations wontonly attacked by Hitler's Germany. In light of this latest event, the United States of American has severed all Diplomatic ties with the nation of Germany."

fdr.jpgHATAP006.jpg

An Italian infantry corps has taken 20% casualties in probing attacks west of Alexandria and withdrawn, along with other Axis forces east, toward the Libyan border with Free French troops in hot pursuit.

Sweden establishes a Free Government in London, along with France, Poland, Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Norway, Denmark, Yugoslavia and Greece.

Germany's ambassador leaves Washington D. C. with the words, "I'll be back."

"You aren't looking well, Franklin."

"The situation with Germany has been weighing on my mind. It's worsening in the Pacific. I'm afraid things will be coming to a boil with Japan."

"Well, Franklin, this isolationism crap has about played itself out. The Japs think we'll sit back and let them grab all of of Asia. And Germany, F'Chrissake, that psycho Hitler attaks places like Norway and Sweden, who the hell were they bothering?"

Late August 1941

The United States Congress debates whether it has the right to declare war on Germany. In the Pacific a Japanese carrier force steams along the northern approach toward the Hawaiian Islands on a secret mission. They are not detected by US naval and air patrols from the Aleutian Islands and Midway as they near their fateful destination.

Swedish Secret Weapons Discovered!

After scouring Scandinavia, German and Soviet intelligence have detected irrefutable proof of the Swedish secret weapons programme. In France!

It would seem that just before the German-Soviet interventeion, the Swedish government moved much of their munitions and manufacturing capability to the unoccupied zone of France. The Reich has definite knowledge of Swedish secret weapons facilities throughout unoccupied France and French North Africa.

ikea.jpg

Requests by the Germany and the Soviet Union that these installations be dismantled have been met by increasingly facile replies from the Marshal Petain's government.

High level diplomatic efforts are in hand to prevent what seems an inevitable confrontation. The Fuhrer, earnestly desiring the peace of Europe, has personally visited the Marshal to resolve the situation.

hitler_petain_lo.jpg

The Reich is confident that sense will prevail.
