Leedsunited40
Are there any plans to make a Pacific edition - or any mods outthere?
GJK
Junk2Drive has a number of Pacific mods that he's made on his website. The folks at Battlefront have made it known that they have very little interest in a Pacific version of Combat Mission - or at the least it will never fully exist in the current engine that Combat Mission uses as the new engine is in development. Who knows if it will have global options though.
Sergei
Maybe the Australian Defence Forces will hijack BFC and force them to make a game solely about the diggers.
Hans
There are Pacific operations and Battles - look for scenarios with a PTO (Pacific Threate Operations) There are about a dozen or so
junk2drive
My mods are at cmmods, pics at my site. I've been following your tech support thread and must assume you've got things working now. Since you are new to the game, I suggest learning it a bit before you start modding.

junk2drive
As I posted above at www.cmmods.com I suggest you learn McMMM mod manager first.
Leedsunited40
Junk2drive Where can I find info about McMMM mod manager? Thanks
junk2drive
At the top, right, of this page is a search button. Learn to use it. Next subject. At cmmods on the left is a Mod Manager section. McMMM is for PC only. [ December 17, 2004, 12:27 PM: Message edited by: junk2drive ]
Leedsunited40
Ok - maybe I am dumb - I did a search for cmmods and found nothing???
junk2drive
Click on this www.cmmods.com You have to register to have access. Once you have logged in you look on the left window for mod managers. Click that and the click the IBM/PCmodmgr link. It takes you to the CMBB section to download McMMM and it works for all CM not just CMBB.
Leedsunited40
Ok. One LAST question, I have downloaded the McMM and registered for the site. Where, though is your Pacific mod? Thanks
junk2drive
There is no "mod". Only individual mods in zip files. A bunch of them. Go back to cmmods, on the left side, click CMAK mods, click by designer, then the right side should change. Scroll down and click junk2drive. There will be more clicking to get to links to the files. Another way is click CMAK mods, click search CMAK, now on the right type in pacific under "Search for the following word(s):" Keep coming back with questions until we get you going. Assuming you know Windows and you have a big enough hard drive, make a copy of your bmp folder within your CMAK folder and rename the copy to "originalbmp" That way you have a backup in case something goes wrong.
junk2drive
I forgot to mention that as a rolling work in process, some of the older mods may not be needed because of a newer version. I leave them there because they generally are smaller files for dial up people and for people to compare.
Lucho
You have made newer versions of your mods? Which ones?
junk2drive
At cmmods I went into statistics, by designer, the junk2drive. Here are the Pacific mods. PAC_CHI_HA_PZ111N.ZIP 90 100 PAC_CHI_NU_ALT_BMPS.ZIP 66 15 PAC_CHI_NU_PZIVG_EARLY.ZIP 125 51 PAC_CHI_NU_PZIVH.ZIP 117 61 PAC_CW_GREEN_AF.ZIP 45 93 PAC_CW_TAN_MW_AF.ZIP 46 76 PAC_FJ_CRETE_EW_PARA.ZIP 107 102 PAC_FLAGS_ICON_UI.ZIP 58 2 PAC_HA_GO_SNLF_MR35.ZIP 91 25 PAC_HUTS_BUILDINGS.ZIP 67 244 PAC_IJA_EW_IT_TAN.ZIP 191 201 PAC_IJA_IT_EW.ZIP 214 204 PAC_IJA_IT_EW.ZIP 214 204 PAC_IJA_MW_IT_TAN.ZIP 126 187 PAC_IN_TERRAIN_WINDOWS.ZIP 68 31 PAC_JUNGLE_TERRAIN.ZIP 191 1,145 PAC_M13_M14_IJA_JUNGLE.ZIP 36 18 PAC_PORTRAITS_AXIS.ZIP 136 85 PAC_SMALL_ARMS.ZIP 100 42 PAC_TERRA.ZIP 153 131 PAC_TE_KE_SNLF_IT_TANKS.ZIP 108 63 PAC_USMC_EW_SAGE.ZIP 138 87 PAC_USMC_LW_AB_CAMOGRN.ZIP 106 56 PAC_USMC_MW_AB_CAMO.ZIP 116 73 PAC_USMC_MW_SAGE.ZIP 97 74 PTO_IJA_HEER_EW_TAN.ZIP 68 81 In addition are 1STMARINE_CONV_PACK.ZIP 94 5 BO4AK_JUNGLE_TREES.ZIP 104 37 The last one is replaced by Pacific Jungle Palms Terrain. From that mod description: This replaces my BO4AK palm trees mod, and adds to my Pac Terrain and icon mod. I may have more than one flag and icon pack, I don't remember. I just wanted to warn to read my descriptions in case I made a new mod containing an old mod.
junk2drive
Tarawa I am working on converting the CMBO Pacific mod battles for Tarawa. Lucho, I got the map conveter working with CMBO. Did you do any convertions other than the maps that you have sent to me? I mean with units and flags?
Lucho
Those convertions from CMBO (via the map converter) are all CMAK pacific maps. But I can send you the original CMBO battles with their units included. Contact me if you are interested, and when you have CMBO. Well, some of the CMBO recreations are pure maps, they are in the CMBO version also only maps (e.eg. Bloody Ridge,..)
Leedsunited40
Questions to Junk2: * What is the difference between your CMAK mods and the Pacific based CMBO mods? * Can they be used together - or is one for CMBO and one for CMAK? * Once I have downloaded these files do they actually overwrite the original files so I can no longer access them?
junk2drive
CM uses a 3D object like a wireframe and the bmps wrap around that frame. Generally CMBO and CMAK are different. Sometimes the shape of the bmp is close enough. Sometimes only the bmp number is different. Let me see if I can make a list of what does work. You cannot use the CMBO Pacific mod the way the it is. For the last question, for PC, if you extract a bmp from a zip file that is just a number, say 613.bmp into your bmp folder, it will overwrite. If you use McMMM it will not. If the mod has extras like 1220_desert.bmp or something it will not overwrite and wont show up on your screen. The mods done for cmmos will only work with cmmos, none are for CMAK yet.
Leedsunited40
Bottom Line - I have downloaded files from CMBO and CMAK. What do I do to have a CM Pacific game?
junk2drive
I have separate installs for ETO PTO etc. Extract the bmps from MY mods into the bmp folder within the CMAK folder for the install that will always be Pacific. That will overwrite the bmps.
Leedsunited40
Ok, I have extraced the files. How do I now install the files? Do you havre a private email so we don't have to encumber this forum?
junk2drive
We're not wasting trees posting here. If you have a pc and you got the windows warning about replacing the file xxx with file xxx and you said yes, then you are done. The little picture of an envelope to the right of your screen name is your email. Same with mine. The little pencil is for editing posts.
Lucho
At the end I do now know how to edit my bad written posts. The little pencil is for editing posts. Something new learned.
