SlowMotion
Hi! A simple question: Does anybody know Windows screen savers that would periodically check whether there's new mail and somehow display it on screen?
Juju
Screensavers? Dunno. There are mail notifiers out there somewhere. Don't know where though. If you want I could check with a friend of mine who uses a program such as that. Let me know.
SlowMotion
Yes, screen savers. I know that there are mail checkers that tell about new mail by flashing keyboard LEDs or with a task bar icon. I'd like to know if someone has found a screen saver to do this. Simply because it's much easier to notice a flashing screen than blinking keyboard LED.
Juju
Wouldn't something with an audio notification do the trick? It's a feature in the program said friend of mine uses.

I can be in another room and know when I get mail. I just crank up the computer speakers, and walk away. When I hear the OOOOGAH OOOOOGAH (submarine diving alarm) I know I have mail. Works great! Mark IV
I use an M14 burst.wav. A real attention getter.

Anyway, I was under the impression that Slowmotion meant an external program that you run in the background without having to have your mail program open all the time. Pvt. Ryan
I use the "Incoming!" wav file from Close Combat 1. It really does the trick. It's a bit strange to hear it when I am playing CM though, especially when there is no arty falling; but then again, sometimes there is and it seems so appropriate.
