Future Battles

Howdy Ya'll,

Just purchased CMAK and have lost sleep for about a week. Wife is threatening to leave! I must say that this is by far THE BEST computer game that I've ever owned!!

I'M HOOKED; ADDICTED; OBSESSED!

Anyway, I'm not even sure that this is the right place for the purpose of this topic but I thought I would try it first, maybe someone can point me in the correct place to ask this question.

This is more for the Battlefront guys than anyone else. For those of us who are of the Jarhead persuasion I'm just curious if you have considered making a combat mission for the Pacific theater of WWII?

I get light-headed thinking of what I could do with a scenario editor in subjects like Tarawa,

Saipan, Iwo Jima, and the Grand Daddy of them all, Okinawa. Spotters for naval artillery, close air support, night time Banzai attacks, AMTRAKs caught on a coral reef being blasted by Japanese artillery, and instead of thick forrests and buildings: Mountains, caves, and bamboo bunkers.

I would appreciate any SKINNY that you may have on this subject or as to how to ask the guys at CM if this has been contemplated.

Send in the Marines!!! WW11, Korea, and Vietnam. Got back from Iraq (again), this time I was able to teach some of my junior Marines basic infantry tactics using CMAK during our moments of downtime.

Again, the USMC is one of the world's finest combined arms shock forces and have fought some great battles against very tough enemies. It would be a great game.

When is CMX coming out? Are there any plans to allow limited battlefield resupply and capture and use enemy weapons? What about napalm (and the cool graphics that would go with it?) Why do professional snipers suck so bad? Why cant you consolidate reduced squads into new teams/squads? Why dont squads re-man BAR's and other key weapons after the one guy carrying it is hit? Why cant a squad pick up bazookas, or other weapons, from KIA bazooka teams and use them? Can illumination rounds be added for artillery and mortars for night battles? Trip flares? Why does artillery run out of ammo so fast? Why does firing smoke rounds subtract from artillery's HE ammo load? The Marines perfected close air support and the blind, burn, and blast technique for clearing bunkers in WWII, can that be simulated? So many questions.

Hi Maj, glad to see your are back safe. (my friend at work just lost a nephew in Iraq :( )

I have been working on more mods. Latest are for Korea. I am contemplating some Vietnam 60's mods. Been reading about LZXray. I might try a battle or op with halftracks as helos.

CMX2 is coming along so they say. We still don't know what, where, or how.

Junk2drive, Vietnam would be a great tactical game, especially in the I Corps zone, where most of the more conventional fighting took place between the NVA and US forces. Early battles such as Chu Lai for the Marines and LZ Albany for the Army, Operation Buffalo, Hue city, etc...there is so many good possiblities.
