Gremlin
Chamberlain, Peter, and Hilary Doyle. Encyclopedia of German Tanks of World War Two. London: Arms & Armour, 1999. ISBN 1-85409-518-8 272 pages, over 1,000 photographs, index, and appendices on production numbers, ammo, radio equipment, armament, etc. Awesome book and cheap, too: only around $20 USD ------------------ War is cruel and you cannot refine it. --Sherman [This message has been edited by Gremlin (edited 01-04-2001).]
von Schalburg
German Tanks of world war II by von Senger und Ettelin, is real good, and I ahve found it to be a great help.

Mattias
If you are on a tight budget "Encyclopedia of German Tanks of World War Two" mentioned above is the one to have. If can spend a bit more I would suggest the books by Spielberger/Doyle/Jentz covering different types of Panzers. Not 100% sure if the one covering the Jagdpanther is available in English though ("Schwere Jagdpanzer" is the German title). But the Encyclopedia really is the best "one stop" solution in my opinion... M.

Mr. Clark
If you can afford it, do what I just did and order the Encyclopedia of German Tanks, and the Allied version by the same author from Amazon.com Comes to about $40 with shipping... not bad for a great reference set. Thank god for X-Mas return money!
apex
Agree, Doyle/Chamberlain is perfect if you want one reference book. Of course, if you want more detail, nothing beats the Spielberger series with one volume for each tank (I, II, III, ...). Don't know about avaliability in english though (that's somethign that never bothered me <eg>). apex
