Fieldmarshall
I know no one has done this before, but still. I was reading up on the StuG IV {Late} and the book mentioned that american infantry found a whole bunch(5 or 6) abandoned StuG IVs,(in may of 1945) and the frontal armor was not metal but suplimented with concrete. The photo was real cool. Could someone make a high-res StuG IV with Concrete frontal armor? --Fieldmarshall
Maximus
One problem with that. If that is done, your StuG III's will be that way too as they share the same files. If you want a Hi-Res StuG, download Fernando's StuGs from CMHQ.

MikeyD
I've seen several picts of late StuG IIIs with considrable concrete armor on the front. I think it was actually a pretty common practice. One pict had the upper hull (above the driver's vision slit) rounded over with concrete, like a moving pilbox. By the way, this particular vehicle was painted green with a big white star and was being used by the U.s.!
offtaskagain
I'm pretty sure they started factory applying cement to the frontal plates of Stugs sometime in late '44 or early '45. It probably would be fairly useful against HEAT weapons, like bazookas and PIATs.
Scipio
Are you sure it was concrete armor, or do you mean Zimmerit coating?
Redwolf
Such a mod isn't possible, since you had to modify the geometry of the vehicle. Otherwise the concrete would have a thickness of zero seen from the side. [ 09-18-2001: Message edited by: redwolf ]
