Pzman
No. Its very possible. They aren't very heavy. How far can you throw something?
Col Deadmarsh
I'm surprised that something like that could take out a Stug. Obviously it had to go through the side or rear armor but that's still 30mm, isn't it?
Lorak
Without seeing a screenshot or the movie it is hard to be sure. But seeing a thrown grenade usually indicates that a close assault is taking place. The thrown grenade is just the graphic representation. So look at it as the infantry got close enough and close assaluted the tank and took it out. Lorak
Radar
I believe the animation is only an abstraction..(not nessesarily THROWING but a member in the squad close assaulting the AVF.
Guy w/gun
You just discovered my favorite thing in all of CM, when infantry close assault a tank and knock it out! With foot soldiers like that, who needs armor!
Kingfish
A close assault can blow off a track, or damage the engine, making a Stug a sitting duck. Now imagine the crew, buttoned-up, unable to defend themselves, listening to a shower of grenades bouncing atop their vehicle. First chance they get they'd bail out. Nothing frightens tankers more than having their vehicle fireball with themselves in it.
offtaskagain
It says in the manual that infantry throwing grenades at tanks is a representation of them trying to get grenades into the drive system, engine vents, etc.
