I've never seen the show myself, but as a fellow Rhode Islander, I gotta throw my support to Rich! And btw, not everyone from RI is that evil... or are we? muahahahahaha

Oh, and Mat great pic. I wish i'd taken a screen shot of the poor King Tigers getting demolished by my Jacksons...

All I know is that I am looking forward for the next Survivor since it will be in Australia!!

Did you guys know that 4 of the top 5 deadliest snakes are indigenous to Australia’s outback! Oh yeah! Go, brown snake! It’s your birthday! Go, brown snake! It’s your Birthday! biggrin.gif

And lets not forget the Crocodiles that grow to in excess of 20 feet!!!! Ooooo! And the poisonous guanas and spiders!!! Yes! We WILL see someone die!

Now that’s Survivor, baby!

I didn't watch this Stupid, Stupid show (best read in a Dennis Leary voice), but even I am disappointed. I don't give a flying fig leaf who won, but NOBODY died. It doesn't even sound like anybody got seriously injured (I'm sure it would have been on all major news broadcasts). Also, where do people come up with these programming ideas and why do we buy into them so much? At this rate we can expect a "Truman Show" type situation in the next 5 years. And another thing, all the time that people were watching this thing was time that they didn't spend playing Combat Mission. Oh for shame.

P.S. It's pretty sad when this is the best thing I can come up with to complain about.

I got hooked on the damn show after about the 3rd episode, just plain mindless fun entertainment, like most tv.

I really thought Rudy would win, if the show really was about survial, out in the boonies, then he would be the one I would pick to win.

Have to figure at his age, when he was a SEAL it was alot tougher then, than now the guy is hardcore, and funny.

I still don't know why Rich got such a bad rap???

Being a former military man, and he knew how to play the game, he changed plans just like a commander on the battlefield would have to to adjust to changing situations. And for that he got chistized for being evil and deceitful. Huh? He played the game and won. Just like we all play the game and either win or get our asses kicked by the AI.

Where does the ideas for these shows come from?

If you ever watch game shows from around the world, especially from Europe, you'll see how dimented and raunchy some of them are. Game shows in the US are quite tame compared to others.

So when some CBS executive got the idea to do a US version of a British show of the same theme, the US public got into the show for its suspense. And another reason.............................................................................................................................................................................. .............................................

Entertainment!!! Especially through the usually boring summer TV season.

You have to understand capitalism and the US public sentiment/interests, I guess, to understand why certain types of media sell and which don't. For example, the genre called Canadian or British humor is not funny at all to the American public. Why?? It's because we can't relate to the topics that British people think are funny. Hence the theme of Americana. Trials and tribulations of life to the British psyche are different than those of the American psyche.

Surviver? Come on give me a break that wasn't Surviver! It should have been called Caniver. There was NOTHING about surviving it was who could stab backs, lie and claw their way to winning.

You want a surviver? Lets do this take 12 people, Dump them off in the Jungles of South America some were by parachute. Give themn a knife and that is it. He who makes it back to basecamp 1st wins or least amount of weight loss.

Or how about take take Death Row inmates, Put them on a island with a knife. He who is left standing Wins. This way you don't have to deal with Electic chairs and all.

Seems brutal but hey you Reality TV give them the Running Man. Or give them Special Forces.

But give me a break that was not a survival of the fitest it was survival of the Most politacal caniver.

On a final note I to was voting for Rudy the Ex Navy Seal.

I wonder how disappointed the more physically fit were when they realized that it was going to be a politcal/popularity contest. I would assume that it reminded the ex SEAL guy a lot of the beaurocracy that could be found in the armed services (don't shoot back unless you've suffered at least 25% casualties and have checked th OpFor ID to make sure they are a viable target). I like the dropping them in the rainforest idea.

On a related note, anyone read this book? I thought it was very interesting and I liked how they resolved it in the end, although I would have prefered to have been SURE that the "Project" members were dead.

besides in their birthday suits, with their facility tourched, I doubt they would have much of a chance....

And of course the door, however slightly remains open for the Evil Mad Scientist to make a second attempt.....R6 2 smile.gif

Have to say that I was pulling for Rudy. Kelly did the right thing to kick him off, who would have thought that Rich could get more votes than her.

I have to agree that Greg's method was pretty funny. But, hey he can vote however he wants. Remember Shaun was using that stupid alphabet method. smile.gif

Anyway, I can't wait until the next "Survivor" ... not a good name but good entertainment. It is funny to see how people react when money is involved.

I hear that Rudy is in the running for the next Survivor series in Oz, and i hope he gets in. His vote for Rich in the final tally really impressed me, he was a man true to his word, even though rich worked against him in that last challenge. Tough guy.

and sue unfortunately did win 50 large. oh well.

UMM WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH U PEOPLE WATCH!!

In new zealand we had ages a go a similar programme screen called treasure island siimilar not exactly the same but close.

I talked to the girl who came second, dam shes sexy man hmm yummy and found out the show was generally rigged from the start.

Me mate flatted with her friend and we found out all about it.

I dont know understand the hype really of a programme thats 99% a crock.

I never watched treasure island ( let alone tv)just the special showing what happened ove rthe whole months it was on. I only wanted wanted to see this chick in a bikini!! hehe dam fine!!!

all i could say was crap to the show itself.

i saw about 5 minutes of survivor and all i could say was rubbish.

U must be bored watching that sort of crap, Im glad i dont watch tv.

Just thought id share my view on the subject.

BASICALLY STOP WATCHING THIS CRAP AND PLAY CM!!!!!!
