Germans With The Wrong Weapons

A friend of mine ran into the problem of having Germans that were shown holding the wrong weapons during a campaign game he was playing.  It wasn't really a bug, but a series of unfortunate events with upgrades and mods going on during a lengthy campaign.  Here are the pics:

To our minds, this shows what kind of things can be done by modders to change the looks of their pixeltroopen.

Importantly just the looks, the underlying weapons will still of course behave like the MG42s or whatever they were before the mod.

Reminds me of our currently absent and greatly missed friend @kohlenklau who modified lots of stock vehicles to look like early war vehicles.  But each one had to be based on a 'donor' vehicle which would behave similarly to the early vehicles in terms of arms and armour.  Otherwise in the extreme you could have a Panzer I with a hidden 88mm etc.

Interestingly, we researched the battle of La Hardt Forest recently between German and France in late 44 and the German Infanterie attacking there was, among "normal" German weapons, equipped with some Brens and even some probably ex-Vichy MP722(f).
