Kredek
Hi Guys, I've shared my steam games library to my brother who wanted to play CMBN and CMBS that I've bought on steam. The problem is that when he starts the game, launcher appears and after he clicks play game starts, but after couple seconds of black screen it goes backt to the steam library... like nothing happened. His GPU is Nvidia, he is running audio via his HDMI display, but so do I and I'm running CM's without any problems... Had someone similiar issue?
Schrullenhaft
I'm not fully certain if it is required, but the problem your friend is running into MAY be a requirement for a C++ runtime library. This thread on Problems with CMBN 4.04 Patch indicates that installing several files got the games running again. I don't know if Steam installs any of these C++ runtime libraries (just to get the Steam client running) or not. I don't think that there would be any specific issues to sharing the game via Steam. Download for X86 and X64 C++ Runtimes (at the top, for Visual 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2022). It is possible that only the X86 version may be necessary, but I would suggest downloading and installing both. With these installed, have your friend try to run CMBN or CMBS and see if the problem continues.
Jane's
Unfortunally not all games on Steam can be family shared. I had the same issue with CMSF 2 and CMBS using my two different Steam accounts on the same PC. On account with the game it ran fine but it wouldn't on the one i shared to. So my guess is CM games can't use family sharing and Slitherine support is the place to ask about it. I haven't done it yet.
