Do you still get a hull down indicator when targetting from one AFV to another?

You get an indication on the Target tool whenever a vehicle (or a waypoint on a vehicle's movement path, if you're testing from a "future position") is Hull Down or Partial Hull Down to whatever it is you're targeting at the time. So in Target mode, if you hover the cursor over a potential target unit, you'll get an indication of Hull Down status that's "accurate" for the combination of shooter, target eyeballs and shooter-position.

The tool is limited, though, when you hover the cursor over the ground: there's no way it can know "what might be looking back at you", so it makes "approximations" and reports your unit's hull-down status based on those. I think the approximation is that is that the engine assesses the status relative to the ground level where the cursor is, but it might assume a standing soldier's eyeball height.

The steps I take. Camera Position1 is a standing trooper or the driver's position in an AFV. Move to a position which provides cover for the driver. Once in the position go up 1 segment with the mouse-wheel and hopefully you have what appear a LOS. Click on the bottom of the screen your waypoint highlight it and check your LOF. If you have an LOF give a fire order and change your movement order to Hull-Down. The AFV won't fire if the movement order is Hull-Down unless there is a target.
