Michael Emrys
Is Civ VI any good? I bought Civ V and then found out I had to deal with Steam, which simply wasn't worth the trouble. So I went back to Civ IV and have been playing it. Michael
Wodin
Haven't played it. As for Steam I have loads of games on it and half or more installed currently use it..never found it an issue.

Things may have change in the three or four years since my experience, but among many bummers that came with Steam was that every time I turned my computer on I had wait five minutes or more while Steam took it over without so much as a "by your leave" and conducted its business. This, quite simply, infuriated me. Michael Edited January 15, 2017 by Michael Emrys
Wodin
Michael just turn it off from starting up with windows:) I always make sure only the vital things like sound, internet security and graphic applications start up with Windows. I check reguralry that nothing has sneaked it's way in. Edited January 16, 2017 by Wodin

However, now that I think about it, there is—or at least used to be—a way to select startup items on a Mac too. I'll poke around and see what I come up with. Michael I think it's actually in the Steam preferences, Michael. I'm on a Mac too and I never have Steam start unless I'm about to run something in it. If you don't find it, shoot me a PM and I'll have a look for you when I'm home.
