rss334
Can't find info regarding this question. Which game is "better", i realize they cover different time periods and have different theaters but with cmfb being the newer game are the gameplay / graphics improved? I saw there was a spring mod for cmfb, does that make the maps as wide open and green as cmrt? It appears cmrt has more mods/maps/and scenarios available, does the mod support favor cmrt? How do you determine which one to get if only buying one at this time? Yes also tried the demos.
womble
CMFB will have some minor improvements over CMRT, but those will be ported into the OstFront title in the next patch for it. They're both "engine version 3" though, so the differences will be truly minor. CMRT has been out significantly longer, so there will obviously be more mods for it. More importantly, at the moment, you might want to ask yourself whether you want winter combat or summer. RT will have a winter Module eventually, since the Family will be extended to VE-day, according to what we know of BFC's plans as they stand (as will the CMFB family, so that'll get Spring, too). Ask yourself whether you prefer to play with big kitties vs big IS's or whether you want to be involved in the chaos of the Ardennes. But if you prefer wide open green spaces, RT's obviously the one for you.

MikeyD
This is rather like standing at a pastry shop window asking passers-by which pastry they think is better. Hey, its pastry! Its ALL good! The 'standard' response is to download the demos (ALL of the demos) then play them til you've exhausted yourself. Eventually you'll find yourself preferring one over the other for purely personal reasons. Heck, maybe you'll find you like the Italian theater best of all!
rss334
I ended up buying FI and enjoyed it, time for the next one. Yes, I was wondering what the sweetest pastry in the shop was currently

womble
One caveat when looking at demos, though: they aren't all updated to the latest version of the engine. CMBN is frozen in the state the engine was when the CW module was released, FI is still engine v2.[firstpatch]. But they'll give you a feel for the environment at least, while futzing around with the later releases will show you the SotA of the engine.
