John Kettler
Was doing some research on RPO weapons when I found this. RAISING RED FLAGS: An Examination of Arms & Munitions in the Ongoing Conflict in Ukraine 2014, Ferguson and Jenzen-Jones, ARES http://armamentresearch.com/Uploads/Research%20Report%20No.%203%20-%20Raising%20Red%20Flags.pdf This thing is in its own incredible category, and the authors make, IMO, Gordon Atwater of APG fame pale by comparison. One of them is the Curator of Firearms at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, UK and operates from the National Firearms Center, the successor to the MoD Pattern Room. The assessment, as is often typical of think tanks/consultancies, which ARES (Armament Research Services) is, is conservative and uses measured, guarded language in assessing the armament situation there and where the weapons showing up are coming from. What isn't conservative, though, is the plenitude of large format high resolution photography of soldiers and fighters; of the weapons themselves; of IDs of all sorts of weapons ranging from typical clear through truly wild field expedients (sound suppressor for a mortar), as well as the munitions which they employ. Also covered are mines, AFVs, artillery, civilian firearms and use of such WW II weapons as the PPSh-41 and the Maxim M1910. The parent site, unlike many other information sites, has no reading restrictions on it, and what's covered every month (extensive archives) will blow grog minds. If you value yours, consider yourself warned. Regards, John Kettler Edited June 15, 2015 by John Kettler

Haiduk
Old weapons origin - huge small arms storages in former salt mines near Artemivsk, where you can find various rifles, pistoles, MG from WWI to WWII . Despite these mines were strongly guarded, separatists in the Spring of 2014 could sneak into some adits, where was stored WWII and post WWII weapon. In such way they received several hundreds WWII rifles, SMG, LMG and AT-rifles. Also they grubbed some museums of WWII. WWII weapon also was in use in some UKR volunteer units. Initially, for example, "Donbas" has DP-27 which can shot only with single fire. VUC of Right sectror, which most of own weapon took in battles hitherto uses Maxim MG. "Azov" regiment despite its now have modern weapon including artillery and tanks also uses some PTRD AT-rifles.
