A Canadian Cat
I just stumbled on this: http://www.armchairgeneral.com/combat-mission-red-thunder-pc-game-review.htm I did a search and could not see reference to it here on the forum. If I missed an earlier post then - oops sorry for a needless post. Nothing particularly amazing about the review mind you.
MikeyD
It is nice to see screenshots down on the ground in the review. Most reviews and videos seem to stay 20 feet up and 20 feet back... then they complain about the lack of detail. Hey, you're 20 feet up and 20 feet back! Even the real world loses detail when viewed from that perspective!
A Canadian Cat
Yeah, that's true. I was fixated on how some of them have the icons still on or the hit text still on or a unit selected which distracts from the graphic goodness. I probably should not complain about that in a game review though since it shows what it looks like when you are actually playing.
Bulletpoint
"A flamethrower attack from a forest against a passing tank set fire to the forest, which panicked some friendly troops." Can forest be set on fire in this game?
Oddball_E8
"A flamethrower attack from a forest against a passing tank set fire to the forest, which panicked some friendly troops." Can forest be set on fire in this game? No, that's just a misunderstanding of the reviewer. Probably due to the small tufts of fire that can appear in the game after a flamethrower attack, but the forests are definately never set on fire.
MikeyD
There is residual ground fire, smoldering. No setting things ablaze, though.
