gunnersman
"The updated installers address a number of additional issues found after the original release, mostly specific to certain hardware and graphics drivers: -The building entry bug should be fixed. -ATI decal-related lighting issues should be fixed. -Air support should now behave as it used to in CMBN and CMFI. That's not exactly reassuring. Or am I being too pedantic?

That's not exactly reassuring. Or am I being too pedantic? In my real life job when I test program changes I also use the word should. I think it should be interpreted as "our testing indicates the problem is resolved but there is always a small chance something was missed in testing".
YankeeDog
Or that the fix works for all of the systems tested, but there's always the chance of the a hardware/OS configuration out there for which the fix(es) do not work. We betas and BFC do as much as we can, but it's simply impossible to test for every possible hardware & OS combination; the graphics card/driver possibilities alone are myriad.
A Canadian Cat
Those first two examples are particularly yucky defects. Both of them only happened on some machines and have been partially addressed and then looked at again. Frankly graphics card issues are ongoing battles so declaring mission accomplished would be, well, unwise.
gunnersman
Interesting. They've never bothered me too much. But good to know. Thanks!
