womble
One thing I run into is that the sun keeps moving during setup phase. So if you start a noontime scenario just before bedtime, futz about with it a bit, then leave it up to go to bed, by the time you come back to it, it's lit like night time (but still midday...). That's the only time-dealy thing I can think of that might affect appearance.
Michael Emrys
One thing I run into is that the sun keeps moving during setup phase. Seems I recall seeing it in regular turns as well. If you sit there figuring out your turn at sunrise or sunset, you start to notice that the sun has moved. I have a hunch that during night turns the stars change position as well. One thing though, once you have given all your orders and hit Go, everything goes back to the position appropriate to the time on the clock. Michael I haven't encountered this in vs-AI games (where I often leave the turn up for many hours)... Might happen in PBEMs; I don't think I've left a non-setup turn of those overlong.
Bulletpoint
I think you toggled the shaders off. Try pressing Alt+R, it should give you a little message in the top of the screen saying "Shaders on"

Ales Dvorak
I think you toggled the shaders off. Try pressing Alt+R, it should give you a little message in the top of the screen saying "Shaders on" I think Bulletpoint has right. Check Alt+R and maybe also Alt+W.
