baron Jacquinot
This is about Ville Bocage?
Nelson 1812
Created at the time of reading about Viller-bocage... so inspired by that encounter, but on a smaller scale to ensure a quicker game. Tournament version (H2H) still being played out at Bobs. First effort with AI so any feed back welcome.
baron Jacquinot
Good scenario, I stop Wittman attack, not hard to do this)))))))
Nelson 1812
Thanks for the feed back... hoping to to get some more, then can react to it, and add some more plans. One of the questions that keep popping up... is how "lucky" was Wittmann on the day. For the Brits... that the ambush and the carnage, resulted in so few casualties...
baron Jacquinot
When you play you have big advantage, because you don't have surprise factor, like Brits in reality. It is not too much bocages for this map? You make map from original sources?
Nelson 1812
Maybe... but I think Wittmann was wise enough to have kept to the N175, rather than battle the country side. From what I have seen of RAF Ariel photos, there were a lot of orchards on both sides of the N175. An after thought, is could the tigers pretty much roll through bocage, due to there size and weight... track marks indicate they certainly were running along side the N175. This H2H tournament map is being played out at the Band of Brothers, currently, the forces for the axis infantry reduced. The reason for this being the AI does not split its forces, and the squads become more cannon fodder. Have redone and still working on round two map (Tilleys corner from memory), of the tournament increased the road size to a highway. Still a lot of work to do on it, but hope to put in another AI game. Great photo's thanks
