rampantone
I have yet to find any type of music of anthem attributed to the division in question. Did they even care about a march song? Alas, there must of been some type of song or ritual connected to the bastards. Was there some some platoon favorite song or a company song?
John Kettler
rampantone, Blood on the Risers, THE Airborne song. Not for the squeamish! Full vocal performance Lyrics http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_on_the_Risers I learned Blood on the Risers as a kid from a combination of Dad and reading Donald Burgett's thrilling Currahee! Captain Samuel Loboda's march, Screaming Eagles, wasn't written until 1956, so is irrelevant to answering your query. rampantone
I suppose the 101 doesn't need a song to etch in to anything John, they are just THERE. It all makes perfect sense now.

John Kettler
rampantone, Altogether more choral, but nowhere nearly as visceral--in several meanings of the word! Regards, John Kettler
rampantone
Ahhh, yes you do come across as biased from time to time.
John Kettler
rampantone, Well, I didn't want to characterize the 82nd Airborne song as pretty, so I instead opted for describing it in terms of what it wasn't. Certainly, though, it's a much more complex and musically developed song. Regards, John Kettler
MeatEtr
Am trying to get the gory gory song for my CMBN intro music. But having a hard time getting it to work. I got it in .wav form, not sure about the frequency or something. Any ideas?
John Kettler
MeatEtr, It's here in three different formats. Does that help any? http://www.west-point.org/greimanj/west_point/songs/bloodontherisers.htm Wiki says all three Airborne units used it: 82nd, 101st divs and 173rd Airborne Brigade.
