The qustion about the german FLAK36 37mm AA

Recommended Posts

Just a question, in the CMAK CMBB,the FLAK36 37mm is L57, but in the CMFI, the FLAK36 become the L98, the wiki show it should be the L57, so which is wrong?

Not yet seen this "L98" in the game, but if present looks wrong? The "Lxx" attribute is a measure of the length of the barrel, in multiples (the "xx" bit) of its calibre. A very different piece, but even the 88mm PaK 41/43 is only L71; never heard of an "L98" gun in WWII era?

The interweb doesn't have much on an L98 37mm FlaK - I've found:

http://es.unidadesmilitares.wikia.com/wiki/Sd.Kfz_7/2_%283.7cm%29_Flak_36/37/43_auf_Selbstfahrlafette

which is in Spanish and lists a FlaK 37mm L98 gun as the armament (complete with photos - the barrel length looks in the right ballpark since it should be 3.63m long)

and

http://www.warmuseums.net/TechnikMuseumPart2SinsheimGermany/sdkfz7withaflak37mml98gun.html

which is a model (and possibly therefore not proof of anything). But both sites list it as a Sd Kfz 7 variant with a single barrel 37mm L98 FlaK gun.

Make of that what you will.
