John Kettler
This is a must see, but it's dying of loneliness on the GDF. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=109792 Talking color film (not colorized) shot in Moscow circa 1947, which shows a staggering array of Luftwaffe aircraft (mostly intact, many scarce ones as far as visual coverage), German field artillery-siege mortars, AFVs from a Panzer II through the heavies, including a Ferdinand and a Tiger 1, softskins of numerous types, uniforms, weapons, and so many Knight's Crosses collectors will go mad at the sight. All in glorious color! This was apparently a huge exhibit set up after the war to show the Russian people what the enemy's gear looked like and to celebrate the victory in the GPW. Think beautifully composed outdoor exhibit of weaponry of every sort, displayed somewhat in the manner of a sculpture garden. Looks to be spring, and the curious, happy visitors (w/ladies in pretty spring dresses) are juxtaposed with Russian officers in full uniform clambering onto and into the armor, often in amazement and admiration for the combat technology, and others gawking. I've never seen anything quite like this film before. Regards, John Kettler
Vark
I've seen stills of the movie, but never the actual thing, amazing how sinister some of the German kit still looks, even in defeat!
John Kettler
Vark, Happy to share it! Quite the presence some of it has. That's for sure. You can practically feel that awed and a bit intimidated vibe from some of the Russian officers. Regards, John Kettler
