I have checked both the original game and Breakthrough in the editors only list 25 British Battleships,Britain had 75 Battleships during WW1,is the reason for the lack of ships in game down to stopping the map get filled with ships during game play,or some other unknown reason,I'm sure the other Nations also suffer from this.

Well in my world Battleships are the rulers of the seas,Castles of steel and they are represented as single ships,I have been playing about with the editor settings and it is how I want the game to be,on land I will need to tweak the settings down abit because the settings I have at present, most combat results as damage evaded,I will reduce the damage resistance settings, apart from that all is good!

Hi

At the start of the war, the Battleships only have minimal Destroyer support, which means that they are vulnerable to submarines unless and until they are upgraded with Anti-Submarine Warfare.

Fortunately the enemy submarines aren't at that stage as powerful as they will become, so there is an arms race between submarine attack values and (generally the British) in providing greater protection to their capital ships.

The best protection is to invest in upgrading as many dedicated Destroyer units as possible, to actively hunt down enemy submarines, while also upgrading the most important Battleships, i.e. those that start upgraded in Naval Warfare.

That is effectively what the Anti-Submarine Warfare upgrade represents in the game, because the Destroyers would carry out the protection for the Battleships.

At the start of the war Destroyers were pretty ineffective against submarines, so it was only later that they developed their role that we know them for now.

HMS Dreadnought the worlds first all big gun Battleship did not need destroyer escorts, because on 18th March 1915 she rammed and sank U.29 in the North sea during a Grand Fleet sweep hehehehe.
