Jagdpanzer IV carries MP44 ammo?

I just had a look at the Jagdpanzer IV (early) model, and in the ammo panel it shows 384 rounds of 7.92 Kurz ammo as part of its loadout. Surely this is a bug, right?

Try giving it a Target Light command - the driver's position is armed with a MP44.

In the later models the driver's gun slot is removed or welded shut.

AchtungPanzer indicates no MP-44 aboard the JPz IV, just two x MG-42.

I've never heard of an MP-44 used as a bow MG.

I had heard of tanks carrying MP44s for protection and then I had heard about this:

But the driver shooting the Mp44 was novel. Learn something new every day.

Krummlauf as I was taught, but this isn't the weapon for the bow MG. Great info, and I had no idea there was a periscope involved. I've always seen this as a street fighting weapon, an early day Corner Shot™, if you will.

Curiously, Gaso.Line has included a rarely seen feature on the fighting compartment roof: the Vorsatz-P, a close-in defense weapon hard point where an MP44 could be fired from within the AFV. Referring to a research posting by Craig Ellis on the ML Axis DG, I've concluded that the Vorsatz-P was used only on late production vehicles and in a different location.

If that's the case, why does the early production model have an MP44 and not the later ones?

No, Vorsatz "P" was a totally different thing:

What you see in CMBN is a MP44 at the driver's gun port. I don't know about the historicity of this, but that's what it is in the game.
