Help - Editing squad weapon numbers.

I have never modded this game before, but I would like to change one aspect in the CW module. I have read a lot on the CW forces during WWII and everything I have read about Normandy suggests to me the Brits need a little more automatic firepower at this point, mainly an extra sten gun. Frankly I have no interest in arguing this with the Devs, it is only an impression I get but I do not have hard values. Still for the purposes of my own play experience I would like to modify the Squad TOE ever so slightly. I do not however have any clue where to start. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If you are creating a scenario you'd select each platoon and then attach a Bren (two man team) from the special teams drop down menu on the left...it's where the formation button is. To get them in previously made scenarios you'd have to open a scenario in the editor and attach each team to your platoons and then save the scenario. They will be independent of each squad but they will fall under that HQ's C2. This is the only way to do it...the actual code cannot be manipulated but it works just fine.

He said Sten not Bren, as in the brits lack adjustability in when going to CQB. But yes, as Mord said, just add a specialist team to them. If you dont care for authenitcity, you can add a specialist team that has more SMGs (If there is any, you will have to check), while their role is completely irrelevant to your interests.

And if you do care for authenticity you can simply headcount-reduce the sections so that overall numbers in the platoon remains correct.

I mean more name-wise. Unit name is "HQ" while you use it as part of a normal infantry squad.

Also yeah, fiddle with the headcount setting. 50% leaves you the leader and closest support guy (if there is more than one left after setting it to 50%)
