  1. Well, many years ago, i have found Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2, and despite the game costing about 25€ back then, plus recieving (late) patches, wich really reworked the game, the last one even included two booster packs, the mod is free, hence it being the mod. That mod for me isnt worth 60€, but 100€/year easily, yet it is free... the team, (mods and community managers included) has about 150+ members, all coming from their own time and pocket. The ammount of contet is mindboggling and they aren't stopping anytime soon. Well, im sure, if it was their engine, theyd charge for it, but just to tell you there is some "free" games out there. I can see though, BF isnt EA/DICE/Ubisoft etc tht makes millions and every penny counts...
  2. Its a bit meh, youre better off with Red orchestra Darkest Hour IMO. RnL is just clunky and unfinished...
  3. Thanks. I am very aware that its for buisness, but to go so low... Lost all my respect. Its like BMW selling a bicycle and naming it M5.
  4. Also, you dont need to win every battle. Do as much as you can in those 50 minutes with minimum casualties and let the game finish and take you to the next scenario.
  5. Yeah. 4th one is off the charts though. Some fictional rambo company. It might be good, but why keep the name is beyond me.
  6. I split teams into supressive and assault (done simply by command) and use them as the names suggest. Works like a charm. I avoid the assault order. I like to micromanage.
  7. Such a nice looking map! Keep up the good work.
  8. Then WEGO is for even more hardcore wussies? I respect everybody regardless of the mode they play in and how do they play it.
  9. Id say "SchtooG", its how germans would say it, so yes, listen to stoex. Word "Bocage" is also pronounced in 8635836583 ways. I personally use it with the french accent, "bocaaage".
  10. Yes its possible, like with infantry. It might be a bug on your side, or youre doing something wrong?
  11. In order to play RT succesfuly, you have to pause every 2 seconds. I dont play it from a top perspective at all. Start of the game is auto paused. I issue small orders to get in some spreaded positions etc. I start the game, wait 10-20 seconds after spotter teams get into position, to spot for possible enemies. In case of enemy fire, i immediately hit escape to stop and assess the situation. If i can find enemy right away, good, if i cant, i zoom out and unpause, to see the tracers again and pinpoint the location of enemies. As soon as i get the approx location, i pause again, set up orders, like you would in WEGO, but only to a point when i will repeat the before mentioned procedure, look for targets. I will keep repositioning and pausing and making plans until i reach the desired state. I pause again, plan the attack and unpause, to watch it happen... upclose, far away, however i want. I dont miss on anything. Incase a new enemy unit pops up on the flanks of my attackers and surprises me, i stop immediately again, and it depends on the situation what i do, maybe call off the attack, or go for the neares cover with all units in the attacking force, while dealing with the newfound enemy with the closest unit. I dont miss anything, like some of you who are saying, that only in WEGO you see everything in motion. Not true. In RT there is the pause option for a reason. RT forces you to paly reasonably, not just fix the turn youre about to do, until its perfect and then lean back and watch in satisfaction. In RT, i get the satisfaction at the end of the mission, when i see i lost little to no men.
  12. Kinda necro, but better than starting a new thread. I can see the benefits from WEGO. You can plan, rewind, fix and also see everything at once carried out. Though RT appeals to me much more, because same can be achieved just lacking the rewind option. Its a tradeoff for instant pause. So its plan, stop, fix. Just takes away the ability to correct your mistakes completely and rather react to the occuring situation. For H2H WEGO is the only option. RT just gets annoying above company levels. In singleplayer, if you want the full experience, you go RT and play it out WEGO style, with pausing an planning. You get one shot to win the mission. In H2H its more like a board game, faceoff of the commanders, therefore WEGO, while RT would be only good if it was more players controling parts o your troops so it would be more like a team vs team. Only then RT doesnt bog you down.
  13. Control + lmb is change of window/door position per face per floor. Even more win, didnt know. Im getting carried way too much into details while making maps.
  14. What the screenshot shows, only i wouldnt set it at 45 deg. I go in the same direction.
  15. Nice. Thanks for the tips. I see either shift or alt with lmb changes windows/house style. Epic.
  16. Not necesarrily on fire, but i remember it that way. Was some small H2H map, dont know the name. How to make rubble houses then?
  17. I've seen a map with some burning destroyed houses. How do you set them like that? And is it possible to make a bocage also in the "blasted" state?
  18. There is a video somewhere on yt (some tutorial) and in the intro, guy parks the Panther on a steep slope, barrel facing the sky, yet he is still hitting a sherman in the distance. Completely weird. I played around yesterday with an M10 vs random infantry and since it has no frontal MGs, it couldnt hit targets closer than 50m, so that is pretty realistic. Maybe they just forgot about german tanks?
  19. Place your blasting team one square away from the bocage line (but not parallel, since it can bug out and you waste a charge.), then issue a blast order to the closest bocage (so they only have to move 1 tile, if even). They will blast with one charge and it should be done. Deuces carry ammo but only rifle/mg iirc.
  20. Many, many thanks to the authors. I will try to recreate my hometown in ww2 style as it was occupied both by italians and germans. We also had a very hidden partisan hospital that germans wer unable to find for the whole staying. (the wounded were lead there blindfolded so they wouldnt give out the position.)
  21. You can also use them to watch HQ's back so they dont get killed outright if somebody flanks from sides/behind.
  22. It should be coded that in dire need of ammo, it would be shared between different unts, and that if two different units take more than 50% casualties each, they can "join" (though stay separate) and thus become viable for ammo exchange.
  23. What every sensible human would do.
  24. Just try it out in the editor? But by logic, i think that only rifles engage and mortar continues the FM.
