Modules are about the same size as base games in terms of the amount of content (new scenarios/campaigns and new equipment/formations).

About the only differences between a new module and a new base game is that a new module doesn't involve installing a new application on your computer, and the new content will be thematically related to the base game it's a module for.

Right. But the content for a game cannot be created until the game is completed, right? Which means that if you have a battle pack and a game that contains a similar amount of content, the new games content was completed on a shorter length of time than the battle pack content.

    Hi Folks!

    Thanks for your replies.

Sadly in my orders history I have this...
    CMBN Market Garden Module
    CMBN-M2V4
There is no download for this product. Use the Activate New Products utility and enter this key to "unlock" the content.

So there is no " download the latest Update 4.04 (which is now called 'CMBN Full Installer' and contains everything CMBN)" at that screen and if I press the link which is

"There is no download for this product. Use the Activate New Products utility and enter this key to "unlock" the content."

I am shown a list of upgrades to purchase  as in CMBN Upgrade 4     $11.65

I can find no way to get to

" download the latest Update 4.04 (which is now called 'CMBN Full Installer' and contains everything CMBN)"

which does not involve paying for it - and I know I had it working at version 4 before - but cannot find a way to get back to it.

Also - when I use the "Activate Modules" icon so I can put in the code for Market Garden and for Commonwealth, I get

    "Code Bad Format"

    each time.

Any help is very much appreciated!

    Thanks

    Jeff

So did you or did you not purchase the Game Engine 4 update?

The reason this thread was started in SF2 is that SF2 deals with asymmetrical warfare in the Middle East.  If Battlefront ever releases an upgrade for the Israel/Gaza war, it would go here (or be a completely new game).

The reason I started this thread is because it's ridiculous that the most active thread on this forum is the Ukraine war thread and this is my protest. That's why I used the exact same title and exact same opening post as the Ukraine thread.

  4. The problem isn't the DLC, I guarantee you the problem is that either somebody is on a different patch to everybody else, or somebody has selected units from DLC that other players do not have.

All installs contain DLC content, the license keys just unlocks it.

To ensure nobody selects DLC units, make sure that the person that is selecting units in the force selection screen uses spacebar and selects only those units that are in the base game.

To ensure that everybody is using the same patch, make sure to check the Updates page on the battlefront website, or to install the Steam version of the game. The main menu shows the patch version installed on the bottom right corner.

  5. @BFCElvis Every few days or weeks people show up on the unofficial CM discord server asking for help with the AMD cards, and every time we can only tell them that they either must roll back drivers, or if they can't roll them back (which the newer cards can't be) then they should seek a refund.

This issue has been going on for over a year now, and I think it's about time that there should be an announcement or warning on the BFC store page and related sales sites like Matrix, Slitherine, and Steam, that currently CM is not supported on AMD cards.

You already do this for integraded chips on the battlefront.com site, but I think it should be explicitly mentioned for AMD cards as well. Very few people know what OpenGL is or what cards support it.

I suspect all the steam stuff has been an enormous drag on what their productivity would have been otherwise.

Battle packs and campaigns are created by volunteers, not BFC staff who would have been working on any steam integration.

It's a whole lot better to automatically get patches than to know you have to periodically search for a notification on a forum or website in case the game has been updated or a new expansion is available.

If people are building huge scenarios and then complaining, they get what they deserve.  But BFC needs to reign in scenario designers building large official scenarios that struggle on recommended specs.

Also, even on empty maps, CMXX is not exactly smooth in how it draws and behaves.

CM allows battalion-sized engagements. It's specifically designed for them in fact. The issue is that the game engine struggles with actually allowing people to fight on battalion-scale maps, especially in the modern game where units are more dispersed than ever before.

I've already spoken with Elvis in a related helpdesk ticket, and he indicated that BFC view larger map sizes as a high priority as so much of their current work is in modern warfare.

Is this really what this forum has come to?  Are we going to turn this into another CMBS forum where nothing about the game gets discussed any more?  Can a mod put a stop to this before it goes there?

Why do you think I created the topic with a near-identical title and opening post?

Is this really showing a bad opinion for what it is though? Its a real video and not even the game.

That's the point. People have been bitching and moaning for years that spotting in CM is broken because tanks don't spot something which is right beside them and shooting at them.

I'm showing an example of this from real life, showing that the CM experience is what happens in reality.

Making fun of anyone while sitting on your high horse is in poor taste. As Bulletpoint said, nobody complains about tanks being unable to see through a somewhat dense reeline like that (As in it's not grass tiles with trees on top of them).

Sometimes bad opinions need to be shown for what they are.

well, I don't think it is broken. At least it works fine in nearly all cases.

My point was just that I would think it was pretty funny if I recognised people complaining about the situation in the video.

Actually I think it's more likely that someone would complain that his Ukrainian tank did not spot the Russian one even though it was driving straight past ...

Man, I'm just making fun of the people who complain that tanks can't see each other when 50 meters away by showing a real life video where one tank cannot see another tank that is shooting at it from 50 meters away.
