Thank You!

The bottom pic. Outstanding.

There are demos for all of them. Try it.

Warhammer Total War has a free campaign that requires ownership of both WH:TW1 and WH:TW2. This could be the same. Except the free part. No new game needed.

B Co 1-23 IN Mosul. 4 Aug 2004. TOW Fired at insurgents in building @ 100-200 meters. You can see the explosion and smoke.

Unbuttoned in front of the infantry leading the company. Oh you mean what's best ingame?

There exists a CMSF campaign based on Twilight 2000 with some good mods, but this one would be a great addition! D/l link???
Played this RPG in HS and was looking at converting Warsaw. Where can one find it?

We could do that, but it would mean sacrificing Pacific Theater. OK, consider it done!
I do have to admit that ages ago I did sketch out a Space Lobsters of Doom game concept. It's in the digital pile with a dozen other ideas that will likely never come to pass.
Steve
Did I read....Pacific Theater?

Just so you don't think I'm totally FOS...

I'm talking about RL and in game. I'm a former Bradley gunner.
Still a crunchy. :) (19k here)

Erwin...most of our activity occurs in urban areas. There are civies EVERYWHERE. So what you are thinking of as spotting is very different than what occurs. Empty battlefield (of civies) is the exception one I only experienced once (Tal Afar). We would still ride unbuttoned to contact even then. Stryker ATGMs are front and center with 240 and M4 in the thick of it.

Strykers go unbuttoned until bullets fly.

Larger maps and more units?
I love playing Battalion level games as much as the next guy, but Company (plus) level, this game's sweet spot, is where the game really shines... the large games take a long time to setup, a long time to complete a turn, and can be excruciating to suffer through. Eventually you get to a point where the game loses its appeal, to me anyway.
Heresy

Would purchase instantly.

I grew up in the 80s and I AM one of those guys that likes playing the Germans. That said this statement contained enough bias for me to stop. 'the Germans chose to withdraw from the area on 17 July.'
Chose...

I just finished this HTH a couple weeks ago using V1 as the Soviets. Minor German Victory to a better player. I had AMPLE assets to play with.
-
The ATGM strykers were used as a company asset for overwatch. Javelins never left the trucks. The TOWs have awesome thermal sights whether mounted or dismounted.

Interesting. Very pleased to have found you!

I would have thought the one sided tank fights at night in '91 would have caused a global reassessment of night optics. That was 30 years ago...
-
Do the cheap T64s not have thermal sights? OMG the Russians seem WAY better at night fighting! (this isn't to take away from my opponent nor excuse my lack of ability...I just need to cry a little)

I'm pretty sure that the 50 posters here will buy whatever is produced. I will.

While not needed for the force on force fights....non combatants (both in vehicles and on foot) would be really really cool if included in CM3 or somehow written into the current game. No doubt this has been discussed since day one of SF1 but as I just started playing SF2 it is the first time I've encountered insurgents since my aborted attempt at SF1 nearly a decade ago. Non combatants could be used in partisan scenarios or 'evacuate the civilians' in WW2 as well. Not just unarmed squads btw. Just sayin'.

Hey now, stop interrupting work on the eastern front.
Interesting find in the vanilla unit files
in Combat Mission Shock Force 2

That promask and bag are everywhere with you in training. Basic. AIT. Any school or FTX. It's part of your tactical training and uniform. Always.
Then you go overseas to a conflict zone and it's INSTANTLY and universally ditched.
Gotta love it.
