  1. Usually most are 'really' confirmed by locals with smartphones anyway. As for the claims, I have lost track, but several of the claimed planes have been confirmed with satelite crash sites, locals, fighterbomber wishing eternal flight, and lost transponders, but I have no Overview how many of the claimed that is and I suspect there will be 1-2 added in. Theres definitively an uptick in losses though, probably due to a risker employment of AA to pave the way for F-16 as others have stated.
  2. It is the incident but Rybar either has wrong info or decides to add flavor himself. No 4 boats were destroyed. 1 came under fire, while on shore, with a loss of 6 on board.
  3. I think artillery shells, no missiles. But they also havent disclosed everything
  4. Sadly a Special Forces group from the 73rd SSO landed on Tendrivska Kosa and paid for it with their lives
  5. this is quite outdated no? They already voted for russia to "protect" them. Likely just bull**** to get ukraine to keep troops there as the frontline desperately needs some reinforcing https://www.dw.com/en/moldova-breakaway-transnistria-asks-russia-for-protection/a-68396033
  6. Due to a lack of shells, large Airburst FPV are being developed.
  7. Trying to find reason in these excuse arguments is an exercise in futility. They shift over time as proven over and over again as the basis for these excuses erodes. UA is perfectly able to handle the most complex machinery with little training very successfully. It wont be said out loud but there is no will to give Ukraine the capabilities with which to inflict a massive defeat on the russians. The (more western) allies have been doing everything to keep the status quo on the front to grind russia down, nothing more and nothing less. A quick collapse leads to the potential for political issues and instability in russia that europe and usa dont want. In a quagmire, russia is contained and the problem is postponed. But of course, the reason for only 31 Abrams in 2 years despite storages filled with hundreds of capable machines is, let me check my notes, that they sink in mud. Or was it that theres only so few trainers in the world that the capacity just isnt there? Or was it that their engines are so fuel hungry, the logistic would break down! So many issues.. heres a list! Somehow Iraq got 140, Saudis 373, Taiwan 108, but thats on sand, it doesnt sink there. Lets not worry about it, did you hear we said we do everything it takes?* Now go fight in M113s from the Vietnam war while we dismantle a hundred Bradleys for scraps.
  8. Aah I remember being told "its only a matter of time" half a year ago, silly me was pessimistic about the politician who has brickwalled new aid every step of the way for 2 years, now its suddenly "dont hold your breath", or to say it as Scholz does: "whatever it takes". Im sure theres German boots in SK right now, making sure they dont bomb NK with it, might draw Germany into a war
  9. I am not claiming the position is bad, in another post I said it is advantagous and funnels russians through deadly areas in which they attrition at greater numbers but I was talking about bombing. The 35th, 38th, 36th, 503rd, 501st and SOF are there, I doubt they use 60-100 to hold a nearly 4km line at any given point, even if this is not "static trench". 2 russian brigades amounts to 3k, lets say actual: 1k, vs 60-100? I question that number, dont have a number myself but that sounds optimistically low.
  10. Every marine complains they drop nonstop bombs, from the average drone footage coming out of there, Id agree with them. Avdiivkas inner parts are more intact despite daily 70+bombs, many buildings still had roofs during 3rd AB GoPro footage during the withdrawl. ze_bg1920 had a post about daily bombing, that he was even forced to deleate
  11. A new kind of FPV drone. There have been airburst versions, but this one seems to direct its effect in a frontal cone and is triggered manually from a distance. Since the video has no audio, Ill link reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/s/pw5d85Su3G
  12. Just CasEvac alone requires carrying a wounded soldier under FPV and artillery threat through 1.9kms of marshland, crossing 3 water obstacles that each require a boat and loading and unloading of the wounded. The boat, will either have to be carried too, or stashed somewhere, where it is likely to be hit by drones. Or you decide to follow the waterways, which requires only 1 boat but is significantly longer through the twisting river. All of that has a very finite throughput, putting more than a couple Marines at risk would be a great way to end up with piles of uncollected bodies. There's already enough videos of stretchers getting hit in that bog. The value of Krynki is that it is a very defensable position that funnels russian vehicles either through the few completely straight forest roads where they can bog down or get hit by drones or through the veery long river road, which is exposed and easily observable, leading to quick discovery and annihilation of russian forces.
  13. I dont understand what you mean. Data is jan23->jan24, so ~3 months of heavy city fighting would be included. This was done by convicts and the data shows the lowest desert numbers at that time, with which the '10' fold had been calculated. Also we are talking about a number that at its monthly highest, is a quarter of the daily killed and maimed, if taking the official estimates.
  14. The villages behind Avdiivka wont be defended much, the withdrawl is going several km back up the highground as far as I can tell
  15. A possible data issue, they account for Mobik vs Contractmeat, but not Wagner - if they are not included it heavily skews the results, as Wagner did most of the meatwaves and in in of itself had a very effective deserter suppression method.
  16. The list goes on. To the previous 6 PoWs in Zenit 2 PoWs in Bakhmut 3 PoWs in the south This week Now comes another 9 PoWs in Bakhmut, executed by russians and filmed by drone. Not in combat situations, lined up. And a video of a russian using a PoW as human shield, where it is unclear if he shot the PoW after being hit himself.
  17. What a source we have a Ukrainian boat, a US Soldiers diving boot, a UK Sub with a tarp on top and in another article they claim Norway was also involved? must've been a busy diving spot!
  18. Or rather, be able to support and gtfo without getting swarmed by russian CAP, which outnumbers greatly - especially since the F-16s and their pilots will likely arrive piecemeal.
  19. The picture originates from a video filmed by a Ukrainian recon team entering a russian position around Avdiivka. Of course its a serb
  20. New video, looks like this was local AA
  21. Pravda claims S-200 system shot down the A-50 https://www.pravda.com.ua/news/2024/02/23/7443442/
  22. That looks like the spot the thermal marksman was watching in one video, very nice seeing them lying there in color and not just as white blips.
  23. If you give blatantly incorrect viewpoints a platform without challenging them, you are no journalist but a propagandist. Example, russians denying civilian massacrers in his interviews, which was not questioned or challenged but instead just accepted. It is not even bothsideism, as there is no other side in this creation. Have they interviewed resistance in hiding? The people who dissapeared or are afraid to speak up? No. Just russians and their stooges. ...
  24. This is giving me an access denied error
  25. Theres not just one, not just two, theres three catchy songs about it
