Welcome Gamma,
If you are still looking, drop over at the Few Good Men and post it up; this is Battlefront's recommended go-to place for finding opponents.

Sorry, what was the topic of this thread?

i think you need to use the open up command so somebody mans the machine gun(s)
FYI this is true for all half tracks, US and German.

;P Thanks John.
I think the 'amusement' (horror/disdain/bewilderment?) these videos have generated (and the feedback thereof) is more than compensating for my original guilt at not watching them properly before posting.
The ongoing commentary is certainly keeping me entertained! It's also helping alleviate (distract me from) some of the pain I am currently suffering at the hands of various PBEM opponents.. Particularly one who recently used thunderbolts to essentially wipe out my entire ATG capability in the first 3 minutes... Groan....

They love their drone but their cutting and composing is just booooring.
I could point out another 100 things that are off/unprofessional/stupid but it's not worth the time.
Yeah, if I could delete this thread, I would! I posted without fully watching the (rather poor) trailers. My bad!
-
There's seems to be quite a lot of such 'test trailers' that don't get any further.
In this case, it may be more an advertisement of the (IDP) drone companies technical capabilities than anything else?
Edit: Now I've watched it more, it seems to be nothing more than (as you say) a bunch of re-enactors, with a drone....
-
Just stumbled across these vids, which (at least one) are subtitled 'Jan 45, Hurtgen Forest', so I think it's on topic for CM: FB. Personally looks far too warm and sunny for that date..... But I know nada!
Note that like a post for a bomber movie posted elsewhere in the forums, these are clearly 'TEST TRAILER's shot by a 'drone' company (?), so there are boom mic shadows and all sorts of other issues. But the grogs amongst you may appreciate (or rip apart?) the technical aspects, cos you enjoy doing so. ;D
Note: searched and couldn't find any existing posts on this....

I generally avoid grave-digging, but this topic is priceless! And some of the additions are too true!

If the below paragraph is chronologically in order (which I think it is, as it is the order the main/base games were released?), there will be modules for both FI and RT, before BS this year:
Quote5. After Final Blitzkrieg is out early next year, our plan is to spend 2016+ expanding our current titles with more modules and packs. The following are closest in the pipeline:
- Fortress Italy module: this is the next big thing coming, and work has already begun on it. See #5 below for details!
- Red Thunder module: winter combat on the East Front...
- Black Sea module: think Marines, Naval Infantry, and VDV, among other new forces. And new high-tech toys. I want to really flesh out American, Ukrainian, and Russian forces/equipment on all levels before moving on to new nationalities.
- More Battle Packs.

Great find and very interesting watching

Obvious question that has to nevertheless asked, that I'm sure the answer is 'yes' to: does each tank's cover armour arc extend past/over the enemy contacts?
I'm sure this isn't your scenario, but if your tanks have seen the enemy while on Hunt, and stopped, but their cover arcs are too short, they may not engage?

At a glance, actually it looks like they only just barely made it into service in the very late war Pacific fighting, with most US sniper weapons being M1903A4 based.
As per panzer's comment:

lols!
Many thanks for clearing that up CMFDR. I think it was working all the time, but i was still trying to physically extract each one separately.. I haven't used WinRAR in years, so I'll blame it on failing cognitive processes..... ;D
Indeed for a laugh I put just one of the RAR files in a folder by itself, and when one trys to extract, WINRAR shows a 'Processing Volume' prompt, looking for the related volumes.

Ahh, the identical packed.brz file name in each of the 3 downloads was totally confusing me....
So I think the idea is to download and unpack each brz, rename the brz to something like HQS2.3_part1.brz (or whichever part it is), then put each of the 3 brzs into your mod folder?

Sexual innuendo, left-field humour, and solid, interesting & real-world technical info; this thread just keeps on deliverin!
I think the closest I've come to a FIST grid was using 9 TRP's in an urban PBEM meeting engagement; those babies allowed me to pretty much use my arty as sniper rounds; dropping tight 3 round bursts with zero warning (from 3 guns) every time that most thoroughly interdicted my opponents efforts, and incapacitated a significant number of his AFV's. Back then, I almost felt like I was cheating.... Now - I will continue with such practices!
-
Awesome! I tend to play with the half-tracks a lot, and these have been the 'missing link'.
Kudos!
-
Not that I have BN, but I'm sure the first question the next poster will ask, is, can you share the save file?
-
Thanks for the headsup!
-
Umlaut, loving your efforts! Are we likely to see the German halftracks soon? Or are they a major amount of work?

I like to grab a beer too in the process but, as far as the mod is concerned, just putting in your mods folder is all it takes.
No such thing as dumb question by the way, I forgot toi mention where it's supposed to go.
An IPA or American Brown?
Many thanks!

For players who don't have patience, knowledge or whatever, here are stock whitewash texture brainwashed and renamed [whitewash snow] as per Umlaut's instructions above, and packed into convenient brz format.
Files list : http://superdupontzeserveur.fr/cm/whitewashsnow_list.txt
7zip archive : http://superdupontzeserveur.fr/cm/whitewashsnow.7z (489 Mb)
Note : no point uploading it onto CMModsIII, it's only a rough temporary quickfix to make do until patch 1.01, probably.
CMFDR, really dumb question. Do I simply put your z[whitewash snow].brz into my mods folder, correct? No other actions necessary?

Nope. These ones wont conflict with Aris' mods: His mods are either for normal (no mod tag) [muddy] or [whitewash]. Mine are normal vehicles in [snow] conditions.
Brilliant! I was starting to wonder the same thing, and you've clarified it nicely.
