Have been looking at hex-editing the Brit officer M37 3D model to point at a particular facial skin. However, unlike CM:Normandy the relevant lines now refer to "placeholder skin" rather than "uk-skin" or german-skin etc. This seems to prevent modding these files. Can an experienced hex-editor or Battlefront shed any light on this change? And whether there's a work-around?

Ian - thanks. Yes, you can delete the faces and keep the rest. Faces/Helmets - I couldn't get NZ specific face skins or helmets to show up so that's why you have the overlap. The M37 battledress seems okay - i.e. it works with the NZ suffix added as a mod without impacting on the Brit M37 stock bmp. Again, no idea why this works. Please let me know if you spot any problems. Am working on a small add-on which adds Maori soldier names and portraits. Should be available soon.

Working on a mod for Indian troops & Gurkhas, but wondered whether specific face bmps can be allocated to branches of service or officers? Doesn't appear so. Hopefully these troops might be covered in later releases but in the meantime here's the wip. No changes to the 3D model so it's texture, name and voice file changes only.

Thanks Waffelmann. Very kind. I'm tinkering with a few things, incl whether the stock turtle helmets might better resemble a netted Mk2 helmet. Also, wanted to check if if BF has already done some NZ unis. If so, then this mod will be unnecessary.

Done some more research. Appears the NZ patch was usually worn on the shoulder tabs. Hope that's right. Updated screenie and my source. Also - a personal wish is that future patches might introduce MK2 helmet models whose shape resembles the netted version in the first pic. Less like a soup bowl.

Started playing one of the Kiwi-based scenarios and noticed that the Brit battle dress was showing up as the default with related insignia. I couldn't see any M37 bmps for the Kiwis [newzealand]. Is this something that slipped through the net? I've created some new bmps and named them accordingly which seems to work. Not sure I've got the insignia right but have searched the internet for sources. I've also added Pat-boy's netted Mk2 helmets and Aris' faces. I hope they don't mind. Blimey

Combatintman - thanks for all your work on these scenarios and maps. A lot of effort. Much appreciated. I've been experimenting with importing some 3D objects from the other games such as wagons, farm implements etc to replace some of the air-conditioning, manholes and rubbish bins that clog up the object options in CMSF. Just renamed them bin1 etc in a mod folder. Work okay if creating a new map with the mod applied. Would need to be switched off after as it could cause unwanted oddities in preexisting maps that use bins etc.

Erwin Thanks for that in depth analysis. I think your comments are very fair. Will help me learn. It is short. Partly, that was an attempt to give a sense of urgency to mirror the fears of those who sought to seize the real station. They actually seized it pretty easily as its protectors had left before the Marines arrived. Wise. I'd tried to add some surprises to make the Marines' task a bit more challenging but I guess they get it done even with losses. I had considered reducing the number of squads. Also, I suspect my victory parameters aren't as tuned as they should be. Ultimately, I didn't want to make it too frustrating, more a quick fun blast. But appreciate that has its own frustrations for seasoned players. Thanks for taking the time to play it and feed back.

Thanks for the feedback, Buzz. Glad the scenario was okay. Muddled my way through its creation using the excellent guide in the repository. Lol. I think there's a few Iraq based scenarios around in the repository. Across the Canal - I believe - is based on An Nasiriyah. Also thanks to others for their kind comments.
