  1. Hello there ^^ , - Could be interesting to have nationalists and communists units with HQs of each side not able to command units of the opposite side. HQs would be cheaper to buy than average but you'll have to decide if you buy a communist or a nationalist one. - Not sure how it would work though since you'll probably need to create a "communist chinese minor country" with a capital city (something like Romanians for Germans).
  2. Hello ^^ , @ david12345 Following my PM about how to take screens. I resized the pics because it's just to show you but if you want bigger ones just select "don't resize" in the "redimension" scroll options . For screens here is with "miniature for forum" link: (just click on the pic to get a bigger view) And here is with "image" link: And last but not least without resizing: Hope to see screens of yours soon .
  3. Thank you for that, some people still have old games going on and can't test new patch for now . Can I ask how much does jap motorization cost ?
  4. @ Bill101, Thanks for your answer , I agree initial morale loss is the same but it seems to take longer to get back for forced march units than for operated units (same for readiness). Example: two german corps I name 1 and 2. Corps 1 begins at readiness 90, morale 100 Forced march Corps 1 ends at readiness 63, morale 46 One turn of rest attached to a 8 HQ Corps 1 ends at readiness 84, morale 76 (R+21, M+30) Corps 2 begins at readiness 85, morale 90 Op move Corps 2 ends at readiness 43, morale 37 One turn of rest attached to a 6 HQ Corps 2 ends at readiness 77, morale 73 (R+34, M+36) So even with lower starting stats and HQ I found the unit operating will got back on its feet quicker.
  5. Hello Mike ^^ , - You're right about me thinking "standard game". I also agree with you about lack of supply penalties. I saw jap units in India better supplied than UK ones or ones with low morale, readiness, supply, strength continue to roll over entrenched commonwealth units protected by river and rain with high supply and HQ level 9 support (well that was how it was in early 42 ). The only jap advantage was experience stars (but without elite steps due to low strength). * - HQs lose experience but usually they do when they're at 0 experience so you don't see it. Once high level HQs begin to gain experience as well as their attached units, they will keep getting more stars together. The main way for an HQ to lose experience is to be attacked and lose steps. Replenishing an HQ can quickly kill its experience stars (loss of veteran officers killed or sacked after the disaster, your pick ). * - For naval movement, as you notice it, it's not that much speed improvement for ships but more doctrine changes. You say tanker use with DDs, there were also subs replenishing other subs or Tokyo express with a group of fast units. - Have you think about giving a "forced march" ability to your naval units ? Double movement allowed but with a hit in readiness and morale (not combat ready, strain on crew and engines, higher vulnerability to mines and surprises/ambushes). - It would match your speed change for BBs 10-20 but with a cost so you would use that ability to transfer ships from one front to another or for blockade runners but not for actual combat (more cautious moves). Thanks for reading .
  6. Maybe something increasing naval movement too, +1 tile by level. Would be very interesting for subs and carriers ^^ .
  7. Interesting thing mcaryf1 , Another possibility would be a research field allowing HQs to attach one more unit by level and/or attaching foreign units that wouldn't be attached otherwise. Not sure about the name, maybe "combined command", "military doctrine", or "allied cooperation".
  8. Hello again , I saw River Kwai was marked on the map so I came up with some Burma railway events: River Kwai bridge event 1 (axis Japan) (historical: 22 june 1942 / game trigger: conquest of Burma) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burma_Railway DE: We are currently supplying our armies advancing in Burma by sea but our convoys are vulnerable to ally naval raids from India. Would you like to secure supply for our troops by building a railroad between Ban Pong and Thanbyuzayat to link Rangoon and Bangkok ? It would take 16 turns to achieve and will cost us 50 MPPs to bring construction materials from Malaya and DEI. Yes: triggers event 2a, 2b, 3, 4 and 5 No: nothing happens River Kwai bridge event 2a (axis Japan) (historical: railway finished 17 october 1943 after 16 monthes) DE: We're using ally POWs as workers to build the Rangoon-Bangkok railroad, it doesn't cost us anything but acts of sabotage are delaying our project and it won't be completed before twelve turns. Would you like to use japanese engineers instead ? It would speed up construction time but will cost us 120 MPPs at 15 MPPs for 8 turns. Yes: create railroad path between Thailand and Burma (adds railroads on tiles 144,31 and 145,31 thus connecting tiles 146,32 and 143,30) after 8 turns No: create railroad path between Thailand and Burma (adds railroads on tiles 144,31 and 145,31 thus connecting tiles 146,32 and 143,30) after 16 turns River Kwai bridge event 2b (ally UK) (fictional/alternate) DE: Japan is building a railroad between Rangoon and Bangkok to supply a land offensive towards India from Thailand. Would you like to send a commando to attack bridge 277 over River Kwai to disrupt their efforts ? It would cost us 50 MPPs. Yes: building of Rangoon-Bangkok railroad delayed by 4 turns No: nothing happens River Kwai bridge event 3 (ally UK) (historical aerial raid: 13 february 1945) DE: Japan is using the Rangoon-Bangkok railroad to feed its offensive against India. Would you like to bomb the bridges along the railway to cut japanese supply in Burma ? It would cost us 50 MPPs. Yes: supply in Rangoon falls to 1 No: nothing happens River Kwai bridge event 4 (ally US) (historical aerial raid: 3 april 1945) DE: Japan is using the Rangoon-Bangkok railroad to feed its offensive against India. Would you like to bomb the bridges along the railway to cut japanese supply in Burma ? It would cost us 50 MPPs. Yes: supply in Rangoon falls to 1 No: nothing happens River Kwai bridge event 5 (ally UK) (historical aerial raid: 22 june 1945) DE: Japan is using POWs to rebuild the railway between Rangoon and Bangkok after each aerial raid. Would you like to launch an aerial offensive all along the railway to put it out of commission for the rest of the war ? It would cost us 50 MPPs. Yes: railroads on tiles 144,31 and 145,31 are destroyed/removed, supply in Rangoon falls to 1 No: nothing happens Hope you'll find it interesting .
  9. Forgot to say you can attack Indochina and Thailand without too much increase in USA mobilization % but for the others, better be ready to face USN !
  10. Ah sorry, my bad ^^ , - I think it's good as it is because when operating units, morale loss lasts only 1 turn if you have an HQ nearby while forced march have more long-lasting effects. It sure is better to travel by train but then you need to reorganize units/logistical supply/command chain, send them to the front and have all heavy equipment follow. - There is also the fact that operating allows for travels of thousands of kilometers while forced march is more in the hundreds. Completely changing geography/climate for a unit, you'll need some time to adapt to new conditions . - Well, maybe we could have a script that increase morale when german units are operated in France (wine sun and women ) but being sent to Russia is always a morale hit . Hope it helps !
  11. @ huhr ^^ : As Japan: - You can go Indonesia/India or Pacific/Australia but either way, it's probably wise to clear the US islands (Guam and Wake + Midway if you can) as buffer and Philippines/Manilla is needed to secure your convoy sealanes. - You can attack Hawai but it requires some amphibious planning. - Honk-Kong, Thailand and Brunei are easy to take and give ressources + Plunder so go for it. - DEI gives a lot of MPPs but takes time to get back to full capacity so try to take it early. - Singapore allows to block/control the western naval door of your empire. - Burma has some oil and a great land defensive position near India's border with a lot of tropical hills. - Nauru-Rabaul-Solomons can provide some ressources and a southern defense line (+ possibly Lae / Port Moresby).
  12. Did I just saw Benito parading on his white horse in Cairo ? Thanks for the AAR guys, nice to see how it goes in other games/scenarios .
  13. Hello Blitzkrieg 49 , - I think many players like the 1939 world at war scenario: a lot of room to maneuver and more various strategies possible. Brute Force takes longer but it depends on your pace and if you play against AI or not. - It'll take longer to play 1939 WAW by email than Brute Force against AI so everything is relative . It mostly depends on how long you think about your move: you can play quite quickly if you just "push" your units around. All in all I find both to be playable in a reasonable length of time.
  14. Hello Amadeus ^^ , Sometimes you just need forced march because there is no railroad around or supplys is too low to allow the use of one (partisans), or you don't have the MPPs, or to advance far behind enemy lines (motorized corps), or to put artillery units in the right spot without losing a turn moving it... .
  15. No problem with me guys ^^ ! Great effort putting all this stuff on the forum, thank you !
  16. That's an interesting thread here ^^ , - Missions offering limited rewards (MPPs, morale, unit or tech) in exchange of diverting ressources from main war theatre/effort would be interesting. * - Something like: sending a german sub to Tokyo (and/or a jap sub to Kiel) for tech exchange, each country would gain a random % increase in one research field: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_submarine_U-1224 Between 1942 and 1944, approximately 35 submarines attempted the journey from Europe to the Far East, and at least 11 attempted the journey from the Far East to Europe. - Some more missions in South America or Africa and a decision event instead of just an event for operation catapult .
  17. Hello Clausewitz, - Not sure, perhaps it means offmap MPPs bonus = 10 each turn not cumulative: Turn 1: China MPPs +10 Turn 2: China MPPs +10 and not: Turn 1: China MPPs +10 Turn 2: China MPPs +20 (like having one more city but those 10 MPPs will always be available unless China surrenders)
  18. Hello Pvthudson ^^ , - I have this error from time to time and so far it's just a corrupt download from mail to PC. - It tends to happen more with unarchived saved turns or when you close the download/transfer window too soon. - So try to get back the saved turn from your friend's mail, minimize the transfer window instead of closing it and load your turn, it will probably solve your problem .
  19. Hehe thanks to both of you, nice to see the game till the end .
  20. Thanks for the answer Hubert ^^ , Of course it's better to play with the new changes you've already made before adding anything else, will gladly try them in next release .
  21. Hello coe , Operate should work if you have enough supply where you want to send your air unit, I think you need a square with 5 supply. Iceland get some "pprotest script" when going axis and go 0 supply so you'll have to wait some turns.
  22. Hello , - I don't think many players buy italian HQs, except perhaps (sometimes) the one in East Africa coming by event. They're all lvl 4 so it's not very tempting. - So I thought about adding a similar event with a better HQ along historical lines with general Messe, considered as the best italian commander of the war (lvl 6). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giovanni_Messe - This event would represent the cost of sending decent italian troops in Russia, thus penalizing its Med effort. DE: Would you like to send an italian expeditionary corps in Russia ?(22 june 1941/Barbarossa) (at the cost of 50 MPPs per turn for 4-5 turns) Yes: add a Messe HQ lvl 6 No: nothing happens Of course you can also just add a Messe HQ lvl 6 to italian unit list ^^ .
  23. Hello ^^ , 1) to balance the "everything against China" strategy - Adding adding 5% to US mobilization each time Japan take a new chinese city. With Chungking-Sian-Chengchow-Foochow-Lanchow-Changsha, it would be +30%, a good incentive to avoid going overboard . (+35% if applying 2) below) 2) to make taking Nanning worth it (either or both) - Change it to a city with 10 MPPs - Adding a lend-lease lane from USA reaching Nanning (like the one between USA-UK) What do you think ?
