  1. I don't own CMFB yet but based on what i have seen about it it has better made vanilla maps, vehicles also have better textures - it has a more streamlined feel to it due to everything being made in a more compact timeline. italso incorporates all the new engine perks that stock CMBN missions didn't came with. CMBN had a long development time span with it's expansions and packs and the difference in quality can be seen in stock maps and later maps that came with expansions for example. Stock maps that came with thew base game were not as good as the ones that are being made now due to more experienced mapmakers. Vehicles also didn't have as elaborate textures on them as they do now. Some user made scenarios/maps for CMBN are great though.

    My unfortunate quirk with the CM games is that they don't run very well on my rig and I thus decided against purchasing CMFB until this is fixed (if it ever will). People having older hardware can run their game better then I can. :(

  2. I'm not being hard on beta testers. I was wondering how this happened.

    Intended or not intended, seems as if it was not intended to me but 'cos it was a pretty obvious one I am asking how coild it have been missed?

    Could be that when you have been tasked to monitor specific things in the game you get a kind of a tunnel vision and are oblivious to what a player not tasked with anything is able to spot.

    CM pushing out patches takes a long time (in comparison to other games that spoiled me) so it's normal if you ask me that those kinds of things stirr me up a bit. We'll have to wait months before we get this fixed. Still I'm not saying you beta guys suck sburke, c'mon!

    That is incorrect.  The eye can not notice anything over about 30fps.  The reason to have something running at 60fps is so when a bunch of things happen to bog down the hardware that it doesn't go below 30fps.

    This is not correct. My eyes can see a huge difference between 30 and 60 frames in your games. While 30 is still acceptable to play, when it gets to below 30 and especially below 25, it becomes a slide show for my eyes. It could be some people don't notice a difference with their eyes being less sensitive then mine. For me a sweet spot in CM is 50 and above. And my rig can only achieve such frames when not much is shown on the screen. Thus I can't enjoy your games as much as I would want to.

    If there would be a way for you devs to try to remedy this, I would be a much happier CM games owner.

    Thanks for the responses.

    The 1070 is for a couple other gpu intensive programs I play that with maxed out graphics keeps me from dropping below 60fps. It has a 30-50% increase over the 970 in some cases, and it was the first step before I get a 144hz 1440p monitor sometime later in next year.

    OK, that is reasonable then.

    There's many psychologists who can explain why this is the case.  When someone has built up a world around themselves to support their own fears or hopes, it takes a lot to tear it down.

    Which one?  There's so many faked "Ukrainian Nazi" pictures out there.

    The thing is that there absolutely are right wing, Ukrainian neo-Nazis fighting against the Russians.  There are also lots of right wing, neo-Nazi Russians (and other nationalities) fighting against Ukrainians.  Some of the DPR's early leadership included:

    Maidan-26-Apr-gubarev-and-wife-nazis.jpg

    But on both sides these right wing nuts are a very small amount of the total fighting force and are less influential now than when the war began.  Trying to characterize either the Ukrainians or the Russians fighting in this war as "Nazis" is totally unjustified.

    Thank you for the clarification Steve.

    @Wicky, yes, she used the second photo on that link that you provided, thanx.

    Funnily enough I showed it to my dad and he asked me how would one know if the original nazi flag wasn't photoshopped with the Ukrainian one. He he.

  6. Well said Steve and thank you for taking the time to provide us with this condense information that would otherwise take a lot of reading to reach. Panzermartin shares the same views about this topic as my dad does. I am trying hard explaining him why he's mistaken but he is slow to change his perceptions no matter how much  common sense I throw at him.

    Saw a TV report from one Slovenian journalist made last year that was basically a pro-Russian and anti-Ukrainian propaganda. Contacted her and was labelled a "brainwashed couch specialist" cheering for the Ukraine side. She's otherwise a good journalist with lots of balls but started her journey in Moscow and this made her totally fog her common sense. If she would enter the combat zone from the Ukraine side I'm sure things would be way different. Russia was doing an amazing job back then getting journalists on her side that's for sure.

    Edit: BTW, this journalist used the photoshopped photo of one Ukrainian combat team where they sport nazi flag. Can someone plese direct me to the original photo? I know it was posted in this forum but it's hard to dig through more then hundred of pages of posts... Thank you.

  7. Hey, 1.03 and 1.04 patch list exactly the same fixes. :D

    Edit: I installed the update and the real changes are these:

    v1.04 Patch Notes:

    Infantry Weapons:

    * Effectiveness of the M-25 CDTE's HE grenade has been increased against enemy troops.
    * More models of recoilless weapons can fire indoors, and with less suppression on the firing troops.
    * Infantry mortar teams will now use their mortars when given a Target Light area fire command.
    * FIXED: Disposable AT weapons not disappearing from the soldier's kit after use.
    * FIXED: Igla S missile offset from tube when launching.
    * FIXED: Rarely an AT-14 team would be unable to finish deploying the ATGM inside houses.
    * FIXED: M25 CDTE has 5-round magazine.

    Vehicles:

    * IFVs with cannons and ATGMs will more intelligently choose which weapon systems to engage enemy vehicles with.
    * Abrams tank side turret armor (both base armor and ERA) is now less effective at defending against tandem HEAT warheads.
    * Russian Kontakt-1 and Kontakt-5 ERA are now less effective at defending against tandem HEAT warheads.
    * Abrams smoke deploys slightly more slowly.
    * Ukrainian tank ammunition loads have been adjusted. Oplot-M now carries APFSDS 3BM42 Mango (instead of Zubr), and T-64BV now carries APFSDS 3BM22 Zokolka (instead of APFSDS 3BM42 Mango). T-6DBV now carries 3BK18 HEAT shells instead of 3BK18M.
    * BTR-80A, BTR-82, and BTR-82A are now more willing to area fire in low visibility conditions.
    * 2K22M Tunguska does not have thermal optics (the 2K22M1 still does).
    * FIXED: The AT-10's tandem HEAT warhead from the BMP-3/3M was too weak against ERA.
    * FIXED: Sometimes Bradley and Abrams ERA blocks would fail to function, allowing HEAT warheads to travel through them and hit the base armor unimpeded.
    * FIXED: At close LOD, BMP-2M would look like a BMP-2.

    Support:

    * FIXED: UAV thermal vision works better in poor weather.

    Quick Battles:

    * QB prices of fortifications have been increased.
    * Tunguska SPAA QB price increased.

    Artwork:

    * Improved textures for M110.
    * Improved textures for Skif.
    * Improved textures for AK-74M.
    * Added muddy textures for MT-12 Rapira.
    * Corrected some mismapped textures in a few flavor objects.
    * Small adjustments to a variety of vehicle models.

    Misc Bug Fixes

    * FIXED: M1167 Humvees would sometimes count as a tank kill on the AAR screen.
    * FIXED: Unit crossing bridge would sometimes get stuck or needlessly zigzag.
    * FIXED: Sometimes a wire fence would stay upright after a vehicle rolled through it.
    * FIXED: A specific Independant House building model had opaque windows.
    * FIXED: Other minor misc bug fixes.

    I am reminded of a saying an old boss used to use "He hit me back first".  His point being that arguing over who started it is rather pointless.  It is better to focus on how each party in the disagreement needs to modify their behaviour going forward.

    That is a wise thing to say IanL, one which shall save our race if it plays out OK but I am nevertheless interested in this aspect of the whole deal. My dad is busting my ass over this issue basically claiming Russia was cornered and that the West is the bad guy in this case. I don't agree with him but don't know what to serve him in order to back up my stance.

  9. Yes, it will be of much use to me since it will be quite an upgrade from my 550 Ti which doesn't work well with my CM games.

    It's interesting how George MC is the second Scot which gave me something for free. The other being Baneman with him giving me a copy of CMBS!

    Thank you very much - will let you know when it arrives to me.
