  1. I just Googled the Sherman Calliope rocket launcher to learn a little bit about it . One link said that they were introduced in France 1944 but not used very often. I did not see any figures on how many Shermans were converted to or made originally in the calliope configuration?

I was wondering if Calliope's might be included as off map artillery[ like the Nebelwerfer ] in future modules?;)

  2. Hi Hessian deserter,

TheVulture is right--there are exit zones in this mission. They SHOULD be visible, please check to make sure your objectives weren't turned off. :)

    Guten aben Herr Blucher,

My mistake. I did have objectives turned off to better view that nice map you made. Please do not send me to the Penal regiment for my incompetence.

I was wanting to send the entire first part of my Kampfgruppe through that first gate on the left just in front of the exit zone border. I am concerned some of them will accidentally vaporize and exit in the process of trying to get them all through the gate. I have no engineers to blast through any hedges. Do you think I should plan an alternate route to the intersection?

    Dank'e Shorn:D

  3. it was not overkill,it was out of nessesity, after my lone panther had been destroyed trying to take that same hill, hill 122 I believe it was. I had originally called in the nebelwerfer barrage on the entire hill. So after the first barrage ends, the next 60 seconds there are no more werfer rounds impacting on the hill so I figured it was safe to go ahead and move my lone Panther on the hill in order to take out that immobilized Sherman, that had been tearing my Infantry and antitank teams to shreads. So then the following turn as my panther is just about to the top of the hill, another round of werfer rounds smash into the top of my lone Panther and destroy my own tank.I made other attempts to take out the Sherman with Infantry Panzerfaust and Grenade attacks but the Sheman repelled them all. Maybe I should have used the slow command for the Infantry at a greater distance from the tank, but it was right on the map edge so I I did not have much room for manouvre

  4. Yesss I am AMPED about CMBN and it is only the tip of the iceburg! The fact that the future modules will not only include new units/objects but new features as well.is very exciting.

No PC game / sim is perfect, nor will there ever be one that is, I doubt.

I played a game like CMBN a while back called Kharkov 1943. It had some very good graphics such as buildings, vehicles, terrain and effects. However when it came to trying to navigate around the map and using the interface it was so difficult for me as to render the game unplayable. it was produced by a Russian company a while back.

So now if I am not playing CMBN, I am flying my other favorite SIM,IL2 1946 modded with UP3RC4 and Dark Blue world. It is to the WW2 combat flight sim community what CMBN is to the ground combat element of WW2. IMHO they are both simply the best of their respective gen're's

  5. While many of us including myself have encountered Arty frustration in some battles. In other battles it has saved my asterexx and worked so well that it gave me goose bumps. That does not mean there are no bugs with the arty but it is by no means a game breaking issue for me.

But my addiction to CM goes back 10 years and my loyalty runs deep. All of the other games from this gen're I have ever tried,[ and there have been many], end up having totally unrealistic "Point Blank" range tank battles on small maps, that immedietly make me feel like I want to throw up because I have been ripped ofsf for another $50 dollars by some dumbed down suits from a console game company who are only lokking for quick cash and have little or no intention of further development of there products. I am sure there are many here who have had the same experience.

  6. +SPOILER+++ Bumper cars

What I found most frustrating was that all roads were blocked with impassable non -blowupable Hedgehog obstacles. Then I had no Engineers to blow any holes through the interlocked Hedgerow hell. So all of my tanks in this battle were basically worthless.

I had to depend on my Zook teams and tired Infantry to attain the victory.

Then I read about the extreme "Fun Factor" LOL of Razorback Ridge".... I decided I would save that treat for a later date,if at all

  7. I thought I saw my XO's giving first aid and this thread now confirms that...They are another unit type that I will put a circular targeting arc around them to keep them from firing at anything that moves. This will also conserve there ammo.

it is nice to know XO's are good for something, besides being like "Smithers" from the "Simpsons"...

  8. I think maybe they designed this camPAIN....to be the toughest of the tough. I stopped after the extreme frustration of bumpbercars...A few have mastered this campaign ,but I prefered to move on to the multitude of other battles and campaigns [growing daily] in our excellent repository

I like this SIM to much to let one sadistic campaign sour me on it.

Why is there no Aircraft support showing up in any battles or campaigns that I have played so far, including all stock battles that came with the game ?????????
