  1. Since there are no US-Ranger formations in CM available, I wondered in which way you guys would change the order of Battle of a „normal“ US Inf. Battalion in order to create a Ranger Battalion.
  2. That would be absolutely fantastic! Please check your PMs. Kind regards, Heckenschütze
  3. Looks nice, PSK! When are you going to release the campaign? Today I worked on the Grandcamp highway map. Should be done until Sunday. Regards, Heckenschütze
  4. That's exactly my intention. I plan a big campaign with the 116th (29th Division) as core unit. But before that, I’ll have to make more maps....
  5. Thank you for your feedback! Well, Oddball_E8, this makes it even more realistic. In real life the poor guys weren’t able to retreat and swim back to England either. The north-south issue is the only thing I am not confident with – you’re right. Unfortunately the map was nearly complete when I recognized it. Is there a way to change this, now that the map is finished? @ LarsS: Concerning your question on the difference of the width of the beach between high and low tide, check the link and the fifth picture: http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/428201/Omaha-Beach Maybe the distance between water and beach wall is maybe slightly too long in my map. What do you think? My next map will be costal highway towards Saint-Pierre-du-Mont. The 29th used this route to reach Pointe du Hoc to retrieve the Ranger force there. Regards, Heckenschütze
  6. Hi all, Finally - it’s done! I’m proud to present you the next Authentic Normandy Landscape map: http://www.pic-upload.de/view-10481073/DOG-GREEN-and-CHARLIE.jpg.html Again, various different maps and sources have been used in order to reconstruct this historic battle site. Please note that I deployed only German forces so far for map design purposes (LOS etc.). The rest is up to you...! As always, constructive feedback is very much appreciated! Enjoy! 7. Thank you for your feedback! @ Oddball_E8: You are right; the damage of the houses is one thing I feel a little uncertain about. I did not find any photo material about the town itself – strange enough. I simply assumed that naval bombardment shelled the city during the naval attacks on Dog Green Vierville itself wasn’t really defended and the city never saw heavy fighting activity. Reports speak of “only scattered fire from the outskirts” when C Company approached. The only exception was Chateau de Vaumicel, where a German strongpoint was located. After it's capture, the Germans even started a counterattack in Kompanie-Strengh to recapture the Chateau on June 7th. @ Jaws: Hmmm, I think this place is not that hilly. The only high ground in the city’s vicinity is where Chateau de Vierville is located. But I will recheck with the contour map at geoportail.fr. @ permanent666: Thank you for the advice – will check it out. I am currently working on Dog Green sector. I think it will take me only two more days (in case my girlfriend doesn’t beat the s*it out of me until then;)) until the map’s complete.
  8. Hi, I want to share a map (size: 944x736) that I’ve worked on for quite some time: the vincinty and the town of Vierville-sur-Mer. I used goggle earth, street view and various WW2 maps in order to design the landscape authentically. There are further ANLP-maps on the way: Dog Green and Dog White sector, Saint-Pierre-du-Mont, Grandcamp and the lower Aure Valley (to name a few). I hope you enjoy my map and feedback is always welcome! Regards, Heckenschütze
