  1. Never did complete "C&F"Campaign--Razor Back Ridge stymied me!!!! Completed the others.Would go back to C&F except I didn't SAVE completed missions and don't want to start from beginning of Campaign again. Is there a way for me to go to RR mission directly ? (for a non tech savvy player).

Try this link to CMBN Scenario Organizer. It breaks out the individual battles in any campaign http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=1411

  2. From your description of the scenaro I'm guessing you're talking about "Out of the hills", which is the next to last battle. Look over the map VERY carefully. There's a spot from which an FO can see almost the entire map. Once I realized what it was the US artillery became much easier to deal with.

(The good news is that in the last battle the Germans get to use that same location)

  3. Depends on what you have left, but what I used when I played the battle was a "left hook" manuever. I bombarded what I felt were the most likely German positions with my initial artillery strikes & moved along the left side of the map until I got behind the German positions and then took them out from behind.

Plus, the reinforcements that came late in the battle made it MUCH easier to finish the battle than I expected.

  4. without multible testings, nothing to complain about. My units normally seem to have the reverse gear figured out. But I have done no testing to see if what is being said here happens too often. But I have seen similar results. where I am wondering why the unit is not getting out of there, its a no win situation.

Only thru test can you really decide what the game will normally do.

Based on my game play, armoured cars (and jeeps/kübelwagens) have NO problem hitting reverse when they see something deadly to themselves. Pumas seem to be less likely to reverse in my experiences, but since they have a good shot of killing US tanks, it's understandable.

  5. Simple. Don't attack up the main road.

I went with a right hook myself and only after flanking the main line of defense did anything come down the road. As to why your attempt along the right failed, without knowing what happened, my generic advice is that while it is important to move quickly, don't rush things either.

  6. I lost all my other tanks due to getting immobilised...I thought they would fix the track in between missions...sadly not. Also Thye are all IV's!! I had one pnather inin the previous mission...thaty was immobilised!!

I only have 230 men aswell...The last mission I lost to many men.

Tough, but not impossible. The three PaK, placed properly can still be VERY deadly. That hedgerow "fort" next to the field by the farther of the bridges can cover the road to the city very well with a couple of PaK and/or Pz IVs, making that route very bloody for the US. There being only two locations (the bridges) from which US vehicles can get to you from does make it a little easier to stop the attack even if you are in a weaker state by the last battle since it allows you to pick off the attackers in ones & twos instead of fives & tens.

  7. Since the AI is not very good at shifting forces from quiet sectors to hot sectors, I tend to concentrate my forces against one spot (but not bunched up tight due to the danger of an artillery strike). I then blast through the spot & then roll up the AI position from the flanks & rear.

The spot I pick is based on "if I were defending this position where I would set up my forces" and them strike the spot that seems least likely to be strongly held. I also use the pre-games artillery strikes to plaster that zone so if I picked wrong, the forces there aren't at full strength when the fight start. I also look at the map & try to figure out if I were to set up ambush spots, where would they go, so sometimes my first attack plan is set exactly where I would set up an ambush, so then it's time for plan B.

  8. question---if you "lose" a battle(mission) is the next one "easier" or "more difficult" Thanks.

That depends on the campaign. Not sure about this campaign, but i know that the Road to Mountecourt campaign winning at least one mission makes the nezt mission easier (and you have to win other missions to advance at all). That said, from what I can tell, the biggest effect in Panzers Marsch for the next scenario is your losses will affect what you have available for later missions.

  9. FWIW I had the same problem. I ended up deleting the game, doing a complete reinstall & then applying only the updated patch & after that vehicles move after restoring a save again. I suspect something in the first patch caused the problem & while the updated patch didn't fix the problem, it didn't have the problem either, so give it a try.

  10. I'm running the Mac version & since applying the patch & the follow up patch I've discovered aa ood problem playing WEGO. If I load a saved game file vehicles will no longer move no matter what movemenat command they're given. I noticed it first in an add-on battle, so I decided to try cats chasing dogs (as the Germans), and the same thing happens there.

I've tried saving the game, then playing several turns past that point while having movement occur in those turns. Then I quit & go back to the save point, replay the same action & no vehicle movement despite the movement lines showing up each time I choose the unit.

Has anyone else had this happen?

  11. Passive defense IS pretty dull (and against decent enemy troops will get you beaten more often than not). Try playing an active defense. The hammer & anvil method can do wonders in annihilating the enemy. Simply have part of your force keep the attention of the enemy troops while the rest flank them to catch them in a crossfire. Something perversely satisfying in having an OK enemy troop total of 0 at the end of the game.

  12. While I can't say definitely for the latest version iMacs, I do know that Barefeats.com tested the last generation & found the top of the line quad-core i7 27" to be the most cost effective due to hyperthreading & having the best video card, so I would suspect the same holds true for this generation of iMacs. I ended up getting that model based on the review and haven't had any problems in terms of processor or graphics slowdowns with anything I've thrown at it so far. If you have the money, the quad i7 is well worth the cost.

I also second the RAM suggestion. I upped to RAM from 4 Gig to 12 for half the price Apple charged for upping it from 4 to 8.
