  1. One of you Icon Gurus-could you investigate if that could be done? I haven't exploded the full game files yet. Demo didn't have captured units. I suspect it just a copy and paste exercise on whatever the German Icon is for the American units.  Might confuse the other player in a PBEM-but then again-that's the whole idea. Right?

And if this can be done-I suspect both PBEM parties need to have the same icon mod for it to work in their face off.. As it is the icons are a dead giveaway as can be seen in the screenshot.

You turn on the scenario and the German vehicles don't fire on the US oooooooohhhh evil. :ph34r:Look guys the cavalry BUWAHAHAHA

My video card can't handle the full dealership scenario-so I split it up (Armored and Track) and imported some captured American units from the scenario using them hence I discovered the grey German stock icons.

  2. I had problems with WinRAR lately.

But I also use 7-zip with no problems. Go figure.

I found the following out about AGEOD games (full game downloads or patches). I couldn't unzip the file because my anti-virus was on. The anti-virus either corrupted WHILE downloading OR when I tried to extract the files downloaded.

So there is my 2 cents-either use another Zip file utility-or turn off your anti-virus when downloading or extracting. FWIW.

What OS are you running and AntiVirus? I'm Win7 with Microsoft Essentials AV

  3. IanL -thanks I didn't know that. National Guard unit  heh.

HINT from a veteran CM player (have all the module). Not a spoiler and isn't covered in training. Not obvious to first time player of CM.

You can move the fortifications. Not just troops and vehicles-but fortifications They are not permanent. If you were a commander where would you dig a foxhole(s)?

    SPOILER way below

No man in my virtual pixel command sits in a jeep reading his dirty picture magazine while eating a Hershey Bar. Every swinging d**k is out there preparing positions. Including drivers.

  4. My 1st battle in FB. Action on Lanzerath Ridge.  Playing as the Americans.

F******* Mg 42's- I really hate that sound now :^I. Passed out like lollipops to every German it seems.

It was a 'near run thing' -no spoilers.

Oh man I wish I had a video of the lone carbine equipped GI taking out the German HQ's unit.

Pretty proud about this minor victory on IRON level.

I have to say though-I am really looking forward to see how someone will improve on the uniforms on the German side. Because the stock uniforms look EXCELLENT.

  5. A shield. Weird but there it is. Guess this happens when you try to put 10lbs into a 5lb sack.

Says an armor shield was added-why one side and not the other? Who knows. I've seen M5 pictures without the plate. M5 manual shows with and without. Odd little tank. Manual even instructs about the 30 cal being used as a dismount weapon.

See pg  37 through 42 of the pdf with drawings.

  6. I got a ton of games-way too many to play or give them justice-Total War, Hegemony this and that, Op Star, Steam and Iron, Rise of Flight, DCS (I even buy their betas hahaha), John Tiller-Nearly every AGEOD game, Command Ops, ARMAxxx....you get the idea.

I keep coming back to Battlefront. Not going to go through the issues-do a search plenty of open threads and a few locked threads on 'stuff'. And I have my own opinion and issues BUT suffice to say Battlefront always provided a DEMO-so you know what you are getting, I never had problems with their help desk, and to extent their games are mod able. I love the Z Folder setup.

I'm not a fan-boy but in our 'niche' market they are pretty damn good.

    That's it.
