  1. Hi John Kettler:

No your eyes don't deceive you :(

I have the game and the CW bundle patched to 1.10.

(See yellow circles in photo below) on what John observed.

It's a bug-if I had a object editor where I could position items using the XYZ axis it would be an easy fix (hint maybe something released in the future to Battlefront customers).

My suspicion is this Humber IIIA doesn't get much attention as opposed to the Usual Suspects in WWII land games (Tigers, Shermans, various German armored cars) so it has gone unnoticed till now. Ironic since that is why I chose the vehicle to learn on.

Hope it can be corrected. Just moving the pixel troops using XYZ an graphics/object area could do it.

Sorry I can't fix this. It can be irritating to grognards-gameplay is important-but so is graphic/object fidelity.

Pretty clear the gunner needs to be moved back and lower. The observer in the 'begging puppy' stance should be moved to his right and lower (or forward so his hands grasp the forward area and he doesn't look like he's begging.

    No problems buttoned up.

Below is a 3rd party utility I used to reposition items in Silent Hunter 4 to illustrate what I mean about positioning on an XYZ. It really is easy to do.

If you have the tool provided.:D

  2. Having been to Italy a number of times, owned at least 4 Italian motorcycles (Moto Guzzi) I can say with some experience that the Italians really do have a sense of style and color.

    But this white cupola ..

Flies in the face of everything in my experience. Style trumps practicality.

    What were they thinking?

  3. Thanks for the encouragement. Yes I got it down now for tires and rims on doing it quick. The user interfaces are making more sense to.

As for what MikeyD said yes this is cheaper then modeling, doesn't collect dust and less smellier. When I was doing ship models as a kid I manufactured lines by stretching the plastic sprue over candles.

I can still hear my late mother

sniff sniff "Somethings burning!!!!- BOY do you want to burn the house down!?"

  4. Saving the weathering (hard stuff) for last. Not at all satisfied at my weathering and scratches graphic attempts. I'm happy with the hull and rim color. My little exercise is showing markings of a Humber IIIA of the 43rd (Wessex) Reconnaissance Regiment. Been fun so far-mud on the tires and added tactical sign 41 on the left bumper and there is one on the rear to.

The 41 denotes a 'recce' vehicle and the Wayvron symbol on the right is of the 43rd (Wessex) Division.

  5. No the format is the same-but the file names are different I copied and pasted a Big Red 1 patch from a uniform mod from Normandy and pasted on the sleeves and copied and pasted the helmets into the helmet files in FI-but no -copying a bz file or a bmp file won't work from Normandy. But my hack job showed nicely. Waiting for the uniform mods.

Sicily is pretty hot to so the uniforms were a bit lighter twill-It was after all-a Walk in the Sun.;)

The vehicle skins work-ARIS jeep works-but they changed the names for the uniform files

  6. Well I'm knee deep in this now using Adobe, GIMP and PaintNet and the videos here and YOUTUBE help on this Humber. The tires took me all of an afternoon and I'm happy with then mud, scratches, dust, nicks :)-but the hull I'm trying to weather and that is still a steep learning curve for me. Just starting to understand using layers. Really treating this mod as a learning experience. I know what I want it's just the user interface can be puzzle palaces.

By my calculations I'm 25% there. Haven't even started the weathering yet. The Star emblem is giving me fits on how to weather.

I have ARIS jeep hull bitmap open for inspiration.("Did you see that?!"):D

    Hey I can dream.

    Critiques are welcome.

  7. Yes it is a bit of a headache. I have AVIRA and even after I tell it to ignore it seems when I turn off the computer the very next day I want to play I go through the same routine of telling the anti-virus to ignore it. It also corrupts my desk icon so I have to rebuild it even after I tell it to ignore it (the av still goes through some 'repair' routine.) What I do now is just turn off the antivirus before I play.

For what it's worth AVIRA when I run a scan also deletes an exe in another armored game that I have (Steel Fury: Kharkov 1942). I just have to restore it from quarantine afterwards.

Sign of the time anti-virus treats quite a few legitimate exe. with suspicion.

  8. Loved it.

Geez it's a toughly I eeked out a tactical defeat and victory was just at my finger tips. Timed out before the mortar barrage would have sent HG personnel to Valhalla. Funny -I was happy to garner a tactical defeat since the town you just know is full of surprises at the git go and is going to be complicated with use of infantry/armor and mortar assets. On the strength of that demo battle I am purchasing FI. The graphics and gameplay are phenomenal. I love the STUARTS -but you really have to be careful how to handle them. It's combined arms all the way. I'm not giving away any spoilers about this battle suffice to say your in for a very, very tough fight and that Sicilian terrain is definitely not your friend.

Have other BG Combat Missions-this one is a WINNER!:)

  9.

When I build a scenario using IED's. I can find the Syrian units that control the IED's BUT I can't find the IED items on any of the drop downs in the scenario editor. When I place the Syrian unconventional units on the map I see the personnel but not the bombs they control. I'm sure it's there since other people have built scenarios with IED's. Where are they in the scenario editor? TIA.

FWIW I have Shock Force with all the modules.
