  1. I generated a battle in Kursk 3 vanilla using a map I created in the builder. Actually its just a renamed map and saved with a few statics added. I noticed it doesn't show up for selection in the quick battle generator. I also notice it is in a directory called Maps, hmm so I moved the folder into the Generator folder and there it is. I created a battle, but it wouldn't let me select battle type, and the battle would not launch or save. Yes I used Win 7 administrator in all cases. Obviously things don't work the same in kursk as they did Africa. What did I miss?
  2. I wonder if these helcopters crash in fireballs like aircraft in tow or if they suffer compartmentiled damage like trucks and other vehicles. I would like to recreate a ditches of toko-ri skirmish just for posterity True these old sikorskeys are not Hind's and can be easily dropped by small arms fire. Like to hear some answers just to keep the forum discussion flowing.
  3. Airborne Trucks. I suppose if they are lucky enough to skirt around the enemy the tactical pay off is big.
  4. I see Korea as a jump off point for even bolder settings. Viet Nam maybe. Or even better the war that never was, Warsaw pact vs Nato, Fulda gap 1986. Had lots of fun with Steel panthers World war 3, lets do it in 3D! I know I know lets get through Korea first. Anxiously awaiting this one too. Please more pictures...........
  5. in context of the quick battle generator I would be keen on having random enemy units and placement. One has to trick the computer into a meeting engagement by having it on the attack. Multiple objective flags for a quick battle would add to the randomness if there was such a thing.
  6. :o Was a fan of CMBB but skipped CMAK. Played the demo and found the terrain graphic art somewhat dated. Didn't realize the italian boot was part of that game otherwise would have picked it up.
  7. sort of. I just got the basic vanilla game. Seems sparse for units on the build your own scenario side. But my doing for being cheap. Finished the German campaign. It was pretty good over all. Seems one guy crawling is the perfect and only recon that works in winning the battle. By design of the defensive enemy positions in the campaign, my infantry were completely annihilated to the man every battle. And lended little to the battle except for caserne pass where my infantry rushed 2 of 3 cannons. Even they were cannon fodder. The enemy infantry in the trenches easily wiped all my infantry in every battle as soon as they moved beyond their smoke screens. And lets face it when fighting entrenched infantry you need more than a 1 to 1 ratio unless you have flank positions and support. In Caserne flanking attacks were prevented by mines. In turn the enemy infantry were inconsequential to my tanks. And I basically mopped them up or ignorred them. So this was really a battle where only AT guns and tanks mattered. Holding air support to the final battle also made a difference. Between winning and losing. Not saying it was not true to history, but as a game this was the design.
  8. Interesting. Korea. Light Tank involvement. Heavy on the infantry side. Historically. I could see Vietnam come next. But very asymetrical. Sure NVA PT 76 tanks, but battling infantry with LAW rockets. Helicopters in Korea were just transports. I like the the change and it could work. Seems every WW2 game franchise misses an Italy Campaign. Never done. Don't know why? Lots of allied formations. US army, Anglo, Canadians. Some exotics Morroco colonial troops. Germans Had Gebirgs, FJ, LW, Heer. And intact tank companies, panthers, stugs used in attacks and defence to the same scale as this game. Various fronts, Canadian Adriatic push, US anzio invasion, Anglo Gustav assault. Could include greece, crete, yugoslavia as an entire duration medriatic conflict.
