The Brits and all of NATO are much lighter than the US and have to abide by stricter rules. you need to protect your forces, due to manpower issues some losses can ruin a company quickly!

Aslong as its been "taken away for further testing"....
What ever did happen to the Anthrax in mail thing. I was just still a child during 9/11 and post years. How many people ended up dying and what became of the threat?
-
Also dont forget to check out the Combat Mission Shock Force modding forum, there is plenty of guides there! and since its basically the same engine all knowledge is transferable.
Good luck!

TheBlackHand, I just read in another thread what about your bogging problem, so I kind of feel your pain. But I guess I haven't played the game enough, because I haven't been affected by that at all, thus it feels very strange to call the game broken. Funny Daisy, Stronghold 3 was actually what came to my mind too. Or any Total War game on release day. Or even worse, the charge bug in Napoleon:tw, which was introduced in a patch, and I don't think they ever fixed that? Maybe I've played to many buggridden glitchfests :/
God I remember that charge bug...Createive Assembly cant make a good AI to save their lives!!! Too bad it almost made the game unplayable

After they are done with a family, they are done. They might release a patch but nothing major will be changed. This is what happened with Shock Force. Lots of people asked and wanted features in Normandy to be put into Shock Force but BFC said no.

yes you are correct, TOW is more of a "game" that CMBN, which is more of a simulation.

Well I think most western armies that expect to be expeditionary have gone onto the brigade as its biggest maneuver unit, even if at home they maintain the name "regiment", as Luke said as basically administrative.

Will there be a Captain Price model in there too
?

Well, ive had a Leo blow up, with all hands lost by a frontal At-3 missile! cought it right under the turret, leasts to say I was not very happy...

Nice to hear!!
Can we get a breakdown on the story of the campaign? who are we controlling and what are we up against?
-
Deserved, all the way. Congratulations BFC!

hmmm well my CMSF got installed here:
C:\Program Files\Battlefront\Combat Mission Shock Force
cant remember Afghanistan, even though I own it, didnt like it and have not played much of it...

They are good for drive-byes, especially if you got 3 passengers with SMG's like a scout team firing.
ive actually managed do do this, having about 2 squads of germans firing at them and the 3 crewmen survived! probably one of the most epic moments ive ever played.

ill give it a go fredrock! I registered but if you can give me a run down of what I will need.

quite interesting, although im sure I would make a fool out of myself I i tried playing it, seems like the kind of game you need to study before starting it.

Well, rushing into ambushes is basically how 1st Recon was used in Iraq jajaja
but yeah SelfLoadings`s guide is a good one to follow.

i guess the war would be over before they could be refitted with new vehicles if it came down to it. honestly it would be more likely i think they would be sent to the rear and another unit brought up from reserve to continue the push
thats what I thought.
I remember when I was little I imagined armies had sort of a reserve stockpile of tanks or vehicles that acted like human replacements.
Now after knowing much more about modern armies and their OOBs etc, I recently asked myself the question agian. and taking into account how quick Iraq or the Syrian campaign finished came to the same conclusion.

from what ive seen in the field manuals the 2 bradley companies and 2 tank companies are the standard for an HBCT battalion
Roger, ive been looking it up further and found many batallions with that setup, cheers

One question.
say during a hypothetical conflict (why not the CMSF invasion) a mechanized unit was pulled out of the line for having too many vehicles destroyed/disabled.
How would this unit be reffitted?
Would it even be refitted?
cheers.

Yeah the german campaign is great, thing is ive played the first missions so much with all the saves ive lost that I dont know when I will get into it again!
plus im working on a possible CMSF campaign, and if not a campaign a good scenario jeje

Ah right, well fair enough, I was unaware that the chemical weapons had been gotten rid of by 2003.
Not to argue anything else, but, as far as im aware of US troops where sent into Iraq with MOPP gear, I suppose this wasnt done on a whim so did commanders think Iraq still had a couple of scuds around?
One British module down, one to go......
