Glad to hear it! hope it all ends well good luck!

I was the commander of the Rebels
well not so much a commander, as a viewer and watched how my men ignored orders and panicked on sight of the Airborne!
The problem was I only had 1 RPG gunner with 2 rounds...and when I was planning on retreating my men ignored me. yes I should have just stayed at the back of the map since the begining but...lesson for another day.

Spain...it's always sunny...sure...in your imagination, hehe, 7ºC..Raining, here.
Fuser! mi amigo!

Preety strange to hear about all this in the news.
Ive managed to catch a couple of videos on YT with the rebels ambushing a BMP1 with an IED and a man pretending to sweep the streets, only to later pop out an RPG and fire it at a vehicle. Ill see if I find the vids.

Waiting for the download only option. Environmental reasons!
Same here, although my reason is living in Europe, and not having the fortune to pay the P&P!
-
Reminds me of the story of the re-enactment, for the news cameras, of El-Alamein. One of the participating soldiers, who had survived the original battle, was blown up by a mine whilst doing so!
This is just too sad. So injust.

Yeah some of your maps where huge, yet detailed and beautiful. You certainly created a masterpiece with Dinas, it would be interesting to look back on it seeing all the new NATO toys we have.
-
Maybe a NATO v NATO scenario... not many of those around.
-
Very good video AAR, had a good BoB and early CoD feel to it!
also, for the germans did you use some CoD 2 sound files?
-
As the war went on and the Germans became more fanatical, their snipers in particular started to play by harsher rules, e.g. gut shooting a guy to use as bait for anyone coming to his aid. Which was why they didn't tend to be taken prisoner if identified.
As seen in "Tales of Vitual Combat"

Man I have to restart this campaign and bloody finish it!
-
Roger, if I ever expand the campaign ill make one with Marines/NATO in the south.
the present campaign will most likely face static tank defenses hidden in between the mountains.
I dont know if I will get to tehran, we will see.
and cheers on the map

Hey there.
And sorry Lucas, Ive gone back to the invasion mainly coming from Iraq. As unfeasable as it might be I felt I could do better scenarios this way. Ive already completed a scenario and half way on another one. I will post some pics of the scenario on the next post.
As for tank battles, western Iran is ofcourse very mountanous but has a few plains here and there, deffinatelly plan on making some armour scenarios.
Iranians will have air support from Cobras in atelast 1 or 2 scenarios.
Thing is, Iranians have quite a respectable amount of MANPADS and Air defence systems so US and NATO air will always have to be weary of batteries hidden in the mountains and groups of enemy MANPADS here and their.
As I said before I plan on making an ambushed convoy scenario, but I like your idea of hunting basij bases in the mountains, ill write that one down thanks
I have, for example Basij fighting with Regular army in the first scenario and plan to do it often.
And as to your bridge idea, man we must have very similar minds. After looking at the Nasiriyah bridgle battle I to wanted to recreate a similar battle. Ive also managed to find a good bridge that is on my battalions route.
If you wish to have a look at the first scenario, you are welcome.
Cheers
(post pictures of scenario later on)

Lucaswillen, ive decided to go with your plan of a south invasion and im working on the first scenario now.
basically a rush from the first units off the ports to relieve an airborne battalion that landed a day ago in a village (Village of Joholou).
EDIT: I might scrap that and just got for a simple company attack. Still making the map so ill have time to decide.

Always use the "forum link".

Suppose the good thing about the digital age of comunications and management in the Army is that these games or simluators are both theory and practice and can set up situations that happen in real life.
And yes IMO CMSF is a brilliant tool, especially for teaching theory. I for one think I will have quite a head start on small unit infantry/mech/armour tactics, names and characteristics of several vehicles and weapons and alot of infantry terms than allot when hopefully I manage to get into NCO academy. Still, never shot anything before
