  1. What would the US Marines do realistically in this situation? I thought about using Humvees as bait, but it just feels gimmicky and I want to absolutely minimize casualties. I'm on the pooh mission right now and I'm just using the Abrams to pound the **** out of confirmed enemy buildings from cover, and using my infantry to move forward.
  2. When I order an Apache to area attack say a 100 meter radius unscouted area, what happens? Do they need to have spotters to engage targets or can they find their own?
  3. What do you do if the enemy has numerous ATGMs? Do you still risk the transport vehicle? I'm having this issue on the Pooh mission in Marines right now. Do I risk losing my vehicles, or do I send in the infantry, moving across an exposed area. Smoke helps, but it's impossible to smoke every angle.
  4. Tried asking in the main thread but didn't get a response, thought it deserved its own thread anyways. The LOS tool is the single thing that's most needed from CMSF >>> Normandy IMO. It's so critical for positioning units in great hull down positions, figuring good covering fire arcs etc. Right now in CMSF we just have to guestimate and it really sucks. I can't imagine it being particularly hard to put in since it's basically just a modified target indicator.
  5. Is Normandy going to cover the Battle of the Bulge too? Is the LOS tool going to be put back in? (this is REALLY needed) What about terrain info when you're hovering over something when the mouse? Move to contact? Shoot-n-scoot?
  6. One other question, is there any way to tell if a MG is deployed or undeployed?
  7. There's this green stuff, just looks like grass that's impassable to both infantry AND vehicles in the first two missions (it cuts a swathe between the left and right sides of the map, pretty much in the middle). What the hell is it?
  8. Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but how are you giving multiple area attack orders during planning, especially if the infantry isn't in LOS of the building (while in stryker)? The game seems to only let me put one attack order at once, and even then only if it's within the LOS right then.
  9. I tried... but it's too difficult, I'm switching back to the We-go. The first mission is easy enough, when you're controlling all of about 14 men, but the second is WAY too overwhelming.
  10. Over tcp-ip that is? Is there a wargaming community somewhere perhaps that has a lot of members that do this?

  12. Yeah what's up with that? Seems like going backwards to remove them. Also why was the "Advance" command removed? Has quick replaced this? (since units fire while moving now)?
  13. Where can I get that? Also I got this mod of a bunch of wav files to add variety to American chatter but I don't see where to put it... Can someone help?
  14. Yeah how do I do this though, I tried area attacking at point blank range, they threw grenades but nothing happened except one of my men was killed .
  15. By a halt command I mean a command (like in CMx1) that just clears all movement orders immediately without needing to backspace several times. Does BFC plan on allowing you to move your waypoints in the future? Very useful feature IMO that I'm missing. I think it's actually even more critical in real time play than in wego. Finally, is there any way to blow holes in the sides of buildings/walls in urban combat with infantry squads? I tried just telling them to area attack but that didn't seem to work... I just find it very irritating when moving a group of humvees or what have you that one will go just a little bit too slow and cause the one behind it to pause for 3 seconds, which will cause the one behind it to pause behind it for 3 seconds, which will cause .... you get the idea.
  16. What's the ETA on an Eastern front game? Also will there be a multiplayer lobby in Normandy (please please please!)?
  17. Well I just got Marines and let me say I'm very impressed with the drastic improvements in 1.20 since 1.5/1.8 SF when I last played a year ago. The game is MUCH easier to play and pathfinding has improved immensely. However, there are still some issues that bug me. 1) Is there any way to change what hotkeys are assigned to what? This has been really bothering me that say the "J" key is assigned to both Slow AND clear target, meaning depending on which command bar I'm "under" I can't issue a quick one button command, I have to use the spacebar. 2) Is there no way to make it so that when units are ordered as a group to do something that they MAINTAIN FORMATION the entire way there? This would be an INVALUABLE command. Perhaps two seperate commands, one where it's a general "everyone get here as fast as possible through whatever means" and another where the entire group stays together for the duration. Time and time again I have vehicles I want to move in a group facing slightly different directions, and since some vehicles need to rotate before moving, if I order them in a group a bottleneck will inevitably happen. Using the pause command is of course an option but not the best one. This was a serious issue IMO in CMx1 too. Ideally, using this "maintain formation and move" command, the vehicles would ALL align the right direction, THEN move, and if a vehicle came under fire and stopped to return fire the ENTIRE GROUP would stop and with it. Anyone else long for this option as much as me? 3) Lastly, and not quite as big an issue, but is there any way to move waypoints around like in CMx1? (where you would right click and could quickly move the waypoint without having to re-issue an entire set of orders). What about the "Halt" command, is this still not in? That said overall great work BFC! I look forward to taking this to the multiplayer realm once I'm done with the campaign.
  18. Just bought Marines and re-installed CMSF. Haven't played since 1.05 or something... hoping the pathfinding and AI's improved since then... Should I start with Marine campaign or maybe one of the user made ones? I thought the Shock force campaign was kinda lame so that's why I ask... Just want something high quality.
