    Anyone up for an eos game? im an unemployed night owl, so for the next few weeks i can play anytime really :D

    i would suggest doing a small map, 1 vs 1 but im open to suggestions :D

    Also, we REALLY need to get a small stars game going :D i recently re-bought a stars disc from ebay cause i missed it soo.

ROFL - you'll never convince me you've ever won anything using one of the "pre-made" races :D Rabbitoids sure breeded like rabbits, but all their tech was expensive and IIRC they had very limited habitation ranges too :) The only remotely playable pre-made race was Humanoids (JOAT), yet they were terrible compared to any half-decend home made race

    I didnt say i ever was them, just liked the concept. Rabbit people, whom outbreed the enemy. And eat space carrots.

  3. I've uploaded version 1-1 to the server, it works but its far from finished.

    Resources are NOT done. (this is my next priority)

    Its a taster only, comments welcome.

    Uploaded 1-2, have added resources abundently, will need to scale them down alot in the future - the game should however be playable on a very basic level now.

    Note:

    Gold = cocaine fields

    Iron = war industries

    oil = oil

    food = food

    best played at farc at the moment

    Suicide squads (destroyed on attack, weak defense)

    UH-1[D] is transport helicopter (considering what graphics to use...)

    *model D is transport, will make gunship model too.

    Motorized infantry are faster than regular, however have less defence.

    Stinger missile is a guerilla soldier with ONLY an AA attack.

    For special units, ill make a building that takes 99999 turns to make, and call it something like 'US air support to colombia' or 'US war on drugs' for the US units.

  5. Looks good so far, but is unplayable as of now- no starting locations...how long until the ruleset is ready, or at least adding a start location so the maps can be used- this applies to the UK map as well.

    Map is just the topographical map, im in the process of working the ruleset, the basics are done i just need to fix them to work.

    Starting locations i think you mean is the starting territory? thats completely done, though i need to put resources in too.

    Ill do a screenshot soon as i fix the ruleset.

    F4 phantom, infantry para is US special forces - i need to tweak the techs some more, some units arent enabled by the factions!

    After than i just need to put the meat on the ruleset and add resources.

  6. Quick update

    For those interested....

    A starting tech determines what units nations can build, for example; revolutionary doctrine is what the rebels have, allowing them to build all the units specific to them, guerilla soldiers etc.

    Other tech and buildings will allow for more advanced units; blackhawk helicopters, f16 fighter bombers etc

    Rebels have a production penalty of 30-50%, however they can build cocaine plantations to increase their production.

    Playable factions:

    US special forces

    Colombian government

    ELA

    FARC

    Progress

    The map is done, the basic units are done.

    Technologies need doing properly

    Units need expanding and adding more

    Buildings needed for certain units to be built

  7. meh :( i dont know. i played a tiny map with 10 players and JUST survived lol. Granted my entire army consisted of a battleship, 2 infantry and a tank :D

    Luck does play a factor tho, there have been times where ive had no food near me at all :/ generally what i did then was take an aggressive stance and find food resources fast.

    ....and dont rip on c64, i still sometimes play c64 games i bought on a disc ages ago ;) the ai isnt perfect in this game, il grant it that, but its good enough for a challenge and brit intends on updating it and improving it, so its all good.

    and sheesh, you have well few resources :D i usdually have a massive surplus of iron and export it for cash, then buy me food, dunno whats up with that.

  8. your just either unlucky, or have way too many units - i found it hard but doable to survive in the demo and in the full game. Try capturing lots of resources and less towns, unlike most games, more cities = more mouths to feed :D

    Units created:

    Guerilla fighter (for rebels)

    Increased movement from regular infantry approx 20%

    Decreased air and armor attack by 50% approx (due to lack of exotic equipment in the hills of colombia)

    Increased defence values in rugged terrain, especially in cities (represents guerilla warfare, if they get in a city, be prepared for a siege to kick them out again)

    Ideas to do:

    M16 infantry government

    M16 special ops USA

    AK47 infantry rebels

    Mortars rebel (weak artillery unit)

    Patrol boat USA (can carry 1 unit, special forces)

    Blackhawk helicopter (can carry 3 units, will use transport plane graphics prob.)

    Hand held AA weapons rebels (cheap flak)

    *will add more as i do them/think of them

    Cocaine fields, cocaine enrichment facilities (ergo oil, which the rebels can sell or use the 'wealth' of to pay for gasoline :D)

    Topographical stuff needs fixing

    The 'sea' between the countrys represents a fixed border that you cant cross (guard posts etc etc) for game balance ive made it impossible for rebels to cross into them, i may in the future ad several 'gaps' where the rebels can sneak into ecuador etc and hide from US attacks.

    The foreign nations would be 'hostile' to everyone but the rebels else to this end, and would shoot down/fight intruders.

    One idea i have, is editing the lowest level of infantry and making it special in some ways, high movement but lower combat damage etc representing guerilla soldiers.
