    Comments:

    SSBN is Typhoon class, Vanguard class object is stealth first strike with nukes

    SSN is attack class submarine, object is to attack other submarines, ships and land targets

    I like the stats, only thing id criticise is i think the attack sub is WAY too dangerous, they have like a 20 point advantage to ssbn, it should have SLIGHTLY higher damage than ssbn, but a decent superiority in attack chance (representing role is taking out nuclear subs).

    My opinion :D

  2. reduce only offence, if you reduce defence infantry will be insane strong. tanks in urban environments are slowed because they fight street to street, their offensive capacity is reduced, their defence ie their armor is the same. My argument anyway.

  3. Just for fun, and because brit has put alot of effort into his patches... i feel another attempt at a scenario is needed.

    Bottom line, i like accuracy and history, fantasy is good as long as its plausable.

    Current ideas:

    *also only large scale can be done due to ai, so no 'blackhawk down' ideas pease :D

    Gulf war 1

    or

    Iran/Iraq war

    or

    Vietnam war (dodgy but possible)

    or

    a world war 2 one? as Brit himself is already doing north africa one.

    Invasion of france?

    Russia? no stalingrad, too small scale

    japanese war in china?

  4. Anyone think that infantry is too weak (compared to tanks)?

    Tanks aren't much more expensive, travel faster, eat the same food/oil, and pretty much always win in a fight (even against inf entrenched in cities).

    Other than for airfields, any reason to use them?

    Anybody think this is realistic? lol

    and if troops in town, they have decent chance + can research better inf

    seems they need a down hit on their bad terrain penaltys tho, tanks only function well in open terrain!

  5. people still interested? id be willing to host a PBEM with only one or 2 people, preferably at least 2 players + me, i wanna get a game going! this game is MADE for multi, and we havent really used brits great pbem system!!!!

  6. I had an idea for units, dont know if this proposed.

    In future it might be nice to be able to create units in theunitset or independantly and then upload that single unit to the database.

    Example.

    I make a truck unit, up load it, someone else downloads and ticks somewhere to use deadmeats truck addon, fin.

  7. I agree. Perhaps a new 'Boomer' class of Class 4 and 5 subs should be created for the 'ICBM'/'SRBM' capability, while the 'Cruise missle' could be carried by the 'standard' subs. 'Drone missles' seem to be more of land-based type of weapon, but if they become the only missile in that class to be produced, perhaps including them in one or the other of the sub classes.

    However Brit would have to code up subs a bit differently than they are now to accomplish this.

    Some aircraft in the game do have some sort of ASW capability. I'm not sure who, but the AI has sunk my subs with aircraft before.

    Cruise missiles could simply be an 'aircraft' that destroys on attack? we could mod that in now i believe? or maybe we need missile carry capacity as well as aircraft carry capacity? (if it isnt already)

    Two typical modern subs i see are:

    Typhoon class submarine (Russian/Soviet)

    -Large

    -Not as stealthy as Los angeles class

    -Durable due to size

    -High payload

    Los Angeles class sumarine (USA)

    -Smaller than Typhoon (alot!!!)

    -VERY quiet

    -Quite vulnerable to damage

    -Good countermeasures both electric and acoustic (against torpedos)

    -Can carry cruise missiles

  8. I love this idea, as some people might have seen ive attempted to do several scenarios, one was Colombian civil war and one was Iwo Jima (with varied success!).

    I love the ideas of scenarios, my biggest problem was the AI, scenarios have to be compatable with the games AI My colombian one never worked very well in that sense.

    WW2 north africa seems a great theatre to choose :D

    If you need any help with anything, Historical research or ideas or anything dont hesitate to ask Brit!

  9. Personally, with regards to the ships - id make destroyers much cheaper, cruisers cheaper and battleships remain the same cost.

    I really can never be bothered to make anything but BB's.

    But this isnt a failing of brit, as it can be modded in easily. *wink wink* ;)

  10. The point is, they are only supposed to get annoyed when you actually impinge on the border and the other point was it's a demonstration of a cascade bug. When I clip my own borders with naval units it can cascade down generating violation messages from AIs:)

    you miss the point.

    Massing on ones borders is not a 'friendly' or 'un-responsive' move.

    It is a hostile move, the AI sees it as such, and replies as such.

    It may be a bug, but i quite like it for such reasons.

    Someone made a mod for this, so its not a problem me thinks :D

  12. I think scott is correct.

    The borders aren't arbitrary lines of 'blind' sight, they are areas of influence of the populous and military below the scope of the game (PT boats for example).

  13. The game is VERY easy to understand, whilst complex all of the complexities are easily accessible.

    Scenarios are very very easy to make, you can even use real maps for the game (as i have) however the fanbase is very small now, nearly non-existant :(
