Meanwhile a bunch of other people are thrilled to have what if different versions of some scenarios - it is a different kind of fun.  As with everything we each have to decide if something appeals to us enough to make it worth buying or not.  No one release of everything will make ever single customer totally happy - I know not news to you are any one else really...

I never said it was worth buying just stating my preference to me the mix in to&e wasnt enough to make me want to replay them. That being said the price of the VP + BP is only 30 dollars and you are getting almost the same amount of content as you get in a module for less which is great and I hope to see more battlepacks I hope it was a success so we see some made after the Italian force pack releases

Right... $10 dollars down the evacuation pipe. Life goes on with us or without us.

Well even with the VP its only 30 bucks and you get 12 scenarios, 2 campaigns, and some QB maps. Really great value however for future I hope they dont reuse 5-6 scenarios with just different TO&E's I would have rather had 5-6 completely different scenarios.

This has been discussed since the CMSF days.  Cracks me up how many excuses people have come up with to somewhat try to justify the bug.  Separate issue but in the same ballpark are bushes.  They will stop AP rounds and it is easy to test.  Wonder if this is even on their radar to look at?

Yeah I have seen bushes stop AP/HE its silly really

It's not my favorite theater, but I think a CM North Africa could be interesting.

But I do think you would need to play on very large maps to get the flavor right and to permit some common tactics like using trucks to transport AT guns so they can be deployed ahead of the advancing tanks.  This would also simulate the "the attack can come from anywhere" feeling.

Whether my computer can run those large maps is another question.

I think that the game engine can already account for things like dust and heat haze.

I feel like since there wouldnt be as much foliage it would be about the same. I could be wrong though

This may not be the discussion to voice this but here goes.I won't purchase anything from Battlefront until Customer Service responds to at least one of my three inquiries about a Shock Force game serial problem.I own 90% of their games and will not buy another one until they have the courtesy to respond to a customer who have been with them since the original Combat Mission days.

The one time I needed something from customer service they responded within a few hours. Sometimes BF stuff goes to spam make sure to check there

  6. Let me enlarge on that. The pre-orders exist as a convenience for BFC to give them some idea of how many discs they will need to manufacture in order to meet demand for those. But the DL-only versions can be turned out instantaneously (more or less) in whatever numbers are needed. So no pre-orders there and no waiting. As soon as the game is ready to go, you can buy it and DL it with no delay. Just close your eyes and pretend that the pre-orders do not exist at all since they do not pertain to you or your desires. I'm not getting anything ahead of you, unless the other guys who pre-ordered can keep their yaps shut, in which case I might get a 24 hour jump on you. But I have already shucked out my dough and it has been deducted from my bank account while you get to keep yours a few more weeks. So go out and have a night on the town and consider that it is courtesy of BFC, who haven't taken your money yet. Right now, they are probably having a night on the town courtesy of me!

    Michael

I know they do it an honestly BFC's meaning of preorder actually makes sense unlike preorders on steam, but it would be nice to preorder digital only that way in 4-6 weeks when its out I already have it bought and paid for and I can begin downloading asap

  7. To get this thread back on track, the demo shouldn't take too long to finalize.  1-2 weeks.  Both scenarios will be snowy, unlike the way it is here in northern New England.

    Steve

Is this the first time the demo is out before the game? I bought CMSF, CMBN, and CMFI after they had already been out awhile and the demo for CMRT and CMBS came out a month or so after the game released

  8. Tripple A titles on disk (such as console games) have always been $100 here since the dawn of time. In gaming it was like the $60 USD standard. Only over the last few years have I seen the dollar amount decline a little, probably because of increased competition from digitial sales.

Why are games so expensive there?

The webpage you guys saw was something that Steve was working on, and wasn't supposed to be visible. He's done some crash course learning on how to get products into the old website (starting with the Battle Pack), because we are going to put CMFB up for pre-orders very soon on the old website. It would be up this weekend, but Steve needs to travel over the weekend. So it is looking like early next week.

Still not up... Any news? is it ever coming?! Tell us man when can I see snowy Germans!? =D

  10. LOL WTF is more like it it.  That means Why The Face BTW for those that don't know :)

Weird comment - your are basing a measure of poor efficiency based on the number forum posts some one makes. Guys, come on, haven't BFC shown us a track record of doing quality work?  Haven't they shown that when they release a game it is good quality?  That takes time.  If the just released it when you guys think it should be ready then you would all be complaining about the poor quality.

    SIGH

I have no idea why people keep posting that they cannot name some game or another.  Thank you @sandman2575 for working to put a stop to that silly meme.  The rule is not advertising another game or posting links to them.  There is plenty of opportunity to compare and contrast any game you like to CM - just make sure you make some modicum of sense- please. :D

Well as in regards to what I said it was mostly joking..

  11. Well, the idea that that game can't be mentioned in these forums -- Graviteam's Mius-Front -- is pretty ridiculous, although I'm aware there is plenty of hostility toward it around here. It's a fantastic game. While I can understand why the Graviteam games may not be to everyone's liking, or every fan of Combat Mission's liking, there's absolutely no reason one can't find both the Graviteam games and the Combat Mission games equally excellent. I do.

So yeah, pick up Mius-Front -- it's a mere $35 and it will provide you with a different take on the Ostfront from Red Thunder, and something to bide your time with until Final Blitzkrieg. There are things Mius-Front does better than Combat Mission, and things (especially modelling infantry combat) where Combat Mission is clearly superior.

I was under the assumption that people didnt mention it because they were banned for talking about it, but yeah I like both games they are my two favorite war games. Aslo it was like $31 at release like 10% of which was kinda cool

  12.

I just thought it was his hobby. Every man needs a hobby.

As to the lateness of the release... Well there is definitely no retail dependency or pressure, that's for sure. I don't know how well BF do from seasonal sales. Regulars that are interested will buy it whenever it comes out. Other CM fans will also probably buy it later on, if they're not tired of the late war western front, since there is little competition. That other game we're not supposed to talk about has also just been released, so beat BF to it, although it has a very different flavour, with a very Eastern Europe style UI. There's no saying you can't buy or enjoy both, and the market is hardly saturated. I can wait.

Yeah I enjoy those forbidden games, but not as much as CM I have a few friends and we are praying for BF to start doing more titles set in 41-43 as those years of the war are more interesting than 44-45, but we hold our breath

  13. I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and think your kidding...

However, in the case that you are serious...

    lol wut?

I dunno I kind of get what he is saying.. Their efficiency could use some improvement.. Also almost everytime i see Steve post it seems he is bashing Russia :P
